Hi Guys, Can anyone please help me with a class A amplifier like Luxman 550 AXII or Sugden a21se maximum current output from the amp when playing music? Thank you
-
Hi All hope everyone is having a good Xmas break despite the weather! I am looking for a preamp for my Luxman m 900u, currently driving Dynaudio Contour 20s and Rel sub. Im using ps audio DSD as dac, preamp. It sounds very good but from what I read hear a preamp would take it to the next level. I can’t afford the new 10x preamp and c900us are few and far between so am considering a tube preamp between $5 and 10K. I read good things about Supratek preamps, ARC albeit ref series is a bit pricey? Does anyone have experience with Supratek preamps or other preamps which would be a good match for Luxman? Thanks!

Classic and legendary luxman preamp. One of the top made from luxmans golden era. This model is 220v released for the Aussie market and Compliment to Australian standards. Outstanding imaging and depth . Smooth , clear and dynamic. The dynamics are glorious. Not overly tubey , but sweet and open without sacrificing clarity or speed. The phono section is particularly sweet with this preamp as the dynamics , soundstage and tonal richness is insane. Eq is sweet for a bump in the bass or treble or line straight as well. Very low noise and distortion. Valves are australian phillips 8x miniwatts. 4x 12ax7 4 x 12au7 No switch, dial noise , noticable distortion or hiss. Circuit board is very clean and compoments look great. Origianlly purchased from hifi exchange. Includes receipt. Great overall condition Happy to demo or send interstate. -

*make me an offer* I’m moving house soon and I need to find a new home for this beauty. This is the latest flagship integrated amplifier from Luxman and it sounds tremendous! Don’t sleep on this rare opportunity to acquire a piece of audio excellence at a very attractive price without the long waiting period. Stock is not easy to come by. Please refer to the following link for all the tech specs: https://www.luxman.com/product/detail.php?id=45 The amp is in brand new condition. Purchased in March 2024 from a local dealer in Melbourne and complete with box, papers and the balance of the warranty. Interstate buyers welcome. I highly recommend reading Ken Micallef’s Stereophile review: https://www.stereophile.com/content/luxman-l-509z-integrated-amplifier Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. -

I purchased this C-700u brand new and ran it for 12 to 18 months along with the Luxman M-700u power amp. The only reason I stopped using it was the opportunity to buy a second hand a Townshend Audio Allegri Reference preamp came up and I'd wanted to own one of these for several years, just couldn't afford a brand new one! The C-700u is a wonderful preamp in my opinion and as you can see from the photos this one is in mint condition. It is built with the same bulletproof and luxurious quality we've all come to expect from Luxman over the years. In the relatively short time I was using it it performed flawlessly. It comes with the original remote, remote cable and manual. For more details and specs please use this link: https://www.luxman.com/product/detail.php?id=20 Worth noting that although display looks a little dim in some of the photos that is to do with the pictures not the display itself. Display is sharp and crystal clear. More than happy to provide quotes for shipping if you need one. I have all the original packaging which is a triple box system so would be well protected if it is shipped. Also as you can see in photos it comes with all the original plastic input and output covers to keep dust out of the ones not being used. Reasonable offers will be considered but no low balls please. Happy to answer any questions you might have. -

Further Information: Precursor to the DA-150, this is an excellent little DAC and headphone amplifier, ideal for a desk setup or in a main HiFi system with speakers. There are two digital filters available that change the sound signature via a button on the front panel. Read more about it here: http://www.adventuresinhifiaudio.com/08/03/2015/luxman-da-100-digital-to-analogue-converter-good-things-in-small-packages/ Please note: There is a very minor crackle in the volume pot, only audible when moving volume up or down, usually around the halfway mark. Since the volume knob only works with the headphones, you won't have any issues if connecting the unit to an amp and speakers. There are some very minor cosmetic marks on the unit, visible in the photos. Postage is available Australia-wide, at the buyer's expense. There is no original box, but the unit will be packed very well. Auditions and local pick up available in Canberra, close to city centre.

Salutations great people of the Steronet! I've run into an issue repairing an L-308 Luxman and require assistance. Some monster has replaced all of the transistors on the power board with the same BC type transistor. Unfortunately the power board is an updated PB-731A version and I can only find the schematic for the original PB-731. Does anyone have the appropriate schematic? Or a 308 with said 731A power board that they can provide me with what Q701-705 should be? Any and all assistance greatfully received. Many thanks and happy listening!

Further Information: I have owned this beautiful piece of audio art for just over a year now. Purchased brand new in August 2022 from Class A Audio in Melbourne, comes with original packaging and paperwork. There was a 10 month wait on Luxman amps at the time due to covid. It was well worth the wait! The sound is so fluid and effortless. This amp has impeccable control over the speakers. More than enough juice to drive even the most demanding speakers. I am very hesitant to be selling but I would like to try separates and possibly also tube gear.

Further Information: As the most powerful integrated amp in its series, this former flagship model is capable of driving almost any speaker without signs of strain or "hardness". It's rated at 120W RMS @ 8 ohms, doubling to 240W RMS with high current @ 4 ohms, and weighs 28kg. This amp is in superb cosmetic condition and faultless in operation, the equivalent of buying a new unit and running it in. Putting your ear to either channel and hearing silence is a reminder of its superb build quality and fanatical attention to detail. Reviewers were unanimously in awe of this model's ultra-low background noise, tonal accuracy, sound staging, bass control and technological advances over lower or previous Luxman amps. With no-compromise component selection, the designers' level of obsessiveness extended as far as auditioning the paint applied to custom resistors! Because no motorised potentiometer (volume control) could be found that didn't compromise performance unacceptably, Luxman engineers decided to make this model non-remote. In 2018 Luxman gave in to market pressure for remote operation and released the L-509x, which currently retails for $13K, so it's been argued that the L-509u might be for some applications the finest integrated amp they have ever produced. For an amp with such comprehensive features (apart from an onboard DAC, which many claim will compromise analogue circuitry) it sounds remarkable, sweet and musical without lacking detail or dynamics. Of the extra features, the one which might be useful for the largest number of listeners is its onboard MM/MC Phono Stage. Typically Luxman, its quality renders all but the most exotic external devices unnecessary. By the time a signal passes through separate interconnects, most will sound inferior to what's already present in the amp. Other features that are likely to be useful for critical listeners include several balanced as well as unbalanced inputs; tone controls, balance, mode and record functions that can be bypassed with a "linear" switch; bypass function for AV use via a "separate" switch. This exceptionally versatile amp combines beautifully executed traditional styling and functionality with true high end performance. I'm happy to demonstrate this for local buyers. Price includes seller's fee if sold on SNA. Advertised elsewhere.

Further Information: Luxman Class A L550 AX II Integrated Amp and remote - in immaculate condition. The unit was purchased from Frank Prowse end October 2022, and still has the remaining Luxman warranty (3 years from date of purchase). I also have the original box and packaging materials. Local sale preferred, but can ship if required (shipping costs and risks born by the buyer). Luxman Class A amplifiers are increasingly difficult to source, as Luxman has reportedly ceased production of both the L550 and L590 AX II. Those of you that have heard Class A, will know how rich, detailed and dynamic it sounds. This is the closest thing I have heard to tube amplification in my system. The unit puts out 40 Watts into 4 ohms and 20 Watts into 8 ohm. Don't be fooled by the modest wattage, as this amp has some serious presence and dynamics. For detailed technical specs, please refer to the Luxman website www.luxman.com Many reviews available online including the one from Zero Fidelity below www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_bVWoMlfR4
