Further information: Hi SNA, for sale is a great sounding and looking Astell&Kern portable player/DAC, which has been with me since 2016. I had travelled a lot around those years and this had kept me good company in those exhausting transcontinental flights. Powered by dual DACs. Original RRP was US$1799. Feature rich, can be used as a USB DAC or wireless audio receiver device. Supports line out, wifi, bluetooth. Has 2.5mm balanced and 3.5mm headphone output. Selling because I use either a PCI-e sound card or a stereo speaker system nowadays so feel the AK deserves more love. Fully working, mint condition. Player and leather case included only - unfortunately the original box has been lost when moving home. Further information: I'm not going to bore you with description of what these sound like, there is so much press out there that does it better than me. Needless to say, they are top class headphones. During two years of lockdowns I've been doing a LOT of headfi listening, mostly on my Senny 800s - I love them and their amazing soundstage but wanted to start exploring other options which deliver a bit more oomph. I purchased these from another SNA member in September 21, who picked them up new from Addicted To Audio in June of 2021. I have actually done less listening on them than I thought, as along with summer came my desire to fire up my PMCs and play music LOUD (Lockdown fever maybe??) In terms of their condition - they present very well, with no marks or blemishes. Same for the packaging. And I gotta say, they are glorious in the the flesh. So beautifully made, they are a work of art to behold and sit easily on the noggin for extended listening sessions. I have big ears (As my daughter constantly reminds me) and have no problem feeling snug and comfy in them. However... As mentioned I am riding the upgrade express and its currently rocketing towards Streamer Town and Subwooferville. So these are being sold to fund the journey. Local sale is preferred, however am willing to post at an agreed amount. Includes: Headphones, balanced and unbalanced cables, carry case, storage boxes for headphones and cables, documentation, original shipping box. Basically, the works! Feel free to ping me if you have any questions. Cheers, Bunyip. Photos:

Selling my Klipsch HP-3 phones, which I’ll probably regret… Out of all the decent to very good phones I’ve tried, these stand out to me, having the most well balanced dynamic range. They have good bass that isn’t overwhelming, sweet highs and pleasant separation creating a natural airy sound. I suppose this is partly due to them being a semi-open back design. In all other phones I’ve tried, there is usually one aspect not up to the others. In comparison I have had Focal Elegia and Sennheiser HD660S (as well as cheaper sets). The HP-3 really are a joy to listen with, alas I cannot justify the luxury of having them when they rarely get used. Speakers are my preferred device of choice and I seldom require the use of headphones. Thus, I’m selling these gorgeous things. IMO they’re some of the most attractive phones available, but you be the judge on that. These would have less than 10 hours use, hence are in excellent condition. The stand has a few minor marks on it but the phones are spotless as far as I can see. The stand is mostly metal, with a heavy base. As you can see, they come with a stand and two cables (with both standard sized plugs), all packed in a beautiful wooden box. These were purchased new in august 21, hence still have over 6 months manufacturer’s warranty. Happy to negotiate a bit on price. Thanks for looking. Stock image to show stand in use. The art of subtlety is something rarely discussed in audio circles. Detail, soundstage and texture? Sure. But subtlety? Especially in a headphone this high-end? It's time to talk about why it's the little things that make all of the difference. If you have been pondering the Dan Clark Audio Expanse open-back headphones, check out Dan's detailed review.
