I own a pair of lovely Dynaudio Focus 110 speakers which were bought from a fellow SNA’r . Been wanting to buy a turntable for my setup but I feel as though my current amp just isn’t doing these great speakers (and eventually vinyl) justice, so im looking to upgrade.
My setup is as follows: Rotel RA-840 amp, ipod ALAC files into Cambridge id100 dock, Cambridge DAC Magic plus. Connected with Bluejeans LC1RCA's, Belden 1694A Coax.
Would like to keep the amp cost under 2k or there abouts. So I guess im going to need an integrated unless I go for a power/pre upgrade in stages as I save more money. Im new in the hifi scene and been doing a lot of reading but its all a bit daunting I must admit. Hoping to invest in a system that I will settle with for a long time and just focus on the music.
My requirements are that I listen to music under 85db max. I listen to mainly electronica, hip-hop, indie pop – majorly synth music. Bass isn’t important to me, detail and and engaging soundstage at low volumes is, as well as a warm sound. Been reading about brands like naim, cyrus, primare and redgum but bewildered with so many options. Any opinions welcome, thanks in advance!
