Hi all, not sure if I’m in the right section but looking for advice on diagnosing a fault in a Goodmans 301 full range driver.
One of the pair plays sound clearly but has very low volume compared to the other.
I have ruled out source issues and cables etc, I have switched out speaker wires , it’s full range, no x-over, so no issues with caps etc to cause the problem.
there appear to be very slight corrosion on the positive connection where the wire from the coil meets the speaker wire screw tab, but the wire itself appears intact.
could old dry solder on the connectors cause the problem, or am I experiencing a more significant challenge?
what else to consider?
any easy tests I should be undertaking?
any guidance is appreciated .
cheers, Paul
