  1. Just read this article In Canada they have manufactured cheaply or economically a Hemp Carbon that makes Capasitors Super Fast I wonder if it will be used for audio applications soon ? Link to article - https://www.asme.org/engineering-topics/articles/energy/hemp-carbon-makes-supercapacitors-superfast Snip - Graphene, a carbon nanomaterial, is considered to be one of the best materials for supercapicitor electrodes. Graphene is, however, expensive to manufacture, costing as much as $2,000 per gram. Looking for a less-costly solution, researchers at the University of Alberta/National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT) NRC, and Alberta Innovates-Technology Futures, led by chemical and materials engineering Professor David Mitlin, developed a process for converting fibrous hemp waste into a unique graphene-like nanomaterial that outperforms graphene. What’s more, it can be manufactured for less than $500 per ton.
  2. (Newbie) What NEW modern day state-of-the-art Preamplifier Transistors with an extremely Low Noise and High Gain out in the market today are superior to the following: 2SC2362 or 2SC1845 or KTC2240?
  3. Found this article and in some ways it sounds like common sense http://www.hifipage.com/high-end-audio-sounds-crap-206/ Snip from the article - Most men who walk into a hifi store ask for speakers with a lot of power and bass. Audiophiles may laugh at this, but essentially they are the same. Audiophiles want gear with low (amplitude) distortion, low noise, and low capacitance in cables. But they seem to forget that these things probably don’t matter all that much, since figures are hardly a sign of true quality. The sound I heard from that restaurant was distorted and noisy beyond any reasonable factor, yet it sounded real. In the process of improving on test results and obtaining more bragging rights, we’ve forgotten the purpose of high fidelity. These days I have a chuckle to myself everytime I hear of someone describing sounds as “warmâ€. In the process of trying to produce undistorted treble (IMHO the most difficult thing to achieve in a system), we’ve grown accustomed to manufacturers simply giving up and dulling the high end, inventing the term “warm†to cover for their inadequacies. I do believe that “harshness†exists: in the form of distorted treble. But “warmth†has simply become an excuse for the inability to produce accurate high range.
  4. Just looking at trying something on my CD transport has two RCA coaxial and two BNC coaxial outputs, they are all 75 ohms. I require some quality BNC terminated Coax cable and RCA terminated coax cable I have read that the - Belden 1694A coax cable is good and any Canare with Canare termination ends Edit Ideally I would like to try this coax combination One BNC x BNC One BNC x RCA One RCA x RCA So if anyone has any coax cable hiding in the drawer PM me Cheers

  6. Item: WDTV Location: Richmond Price: $70 Item Condition: Excellent. Reason for selling: I've finally upgraded to an Oppo 105 to save space, cut down on remotes and honestly I just really wanted one! Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Only (not interested in shipping so please don't ask) Extra Info: I've read a few reviews on this saying how hard it is to use. To be perfectly honest it does take 20min and a computer restart or 2 to get up and running but as long as you can read the instructions and use google it's very doable. Plus once it's hooked up you have a very good media streamer with optical and HDMI outputs so you can go through a dac (like my emotiva xda-2 dac&pre that's also for sale... ) for music or straight into a receiver for movies etc. Once you have it hooked up there is very little lag while navigating menus or jumping from playing music to a completely different folder and playing 3D 1080p movies. Comes with power adapter. For a look/listen please send me a PM and we can arrange a time. Pictures: Sorry about the pic's. They're the best my phone can do....
