I've been sort of looking for a change in my system and these speakers have picked up my interest recently. I want to put out a call out to any fellow members in SA with a pair of Maggies or Acoustats speakers in their setup, and who would be so kind to let me come over for a brief listening session. So that I can sort of get a feel for them and see if I like them enough to go and start looking for a pair. Cheers

Item: Acoustat 6 Speaker with Roger Modjeski Direct Drive Amplifier Location: Gosford/Sydney Price: $6000 Neg Item Condition: Speakers good, Amplifier brand new. Reason for selling: Not used Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal if buyer pays fees, COD Only Will be making a donation to SNA upon successful sale. Extra Info: I need to face reality and accept I'm never going to have the time to finish this project, so I may as well let someone else enjoy it. The Acoustat speakers originally have 8 panels per side. 4 of them have been removed and sold in preparation for building the "Best Speakers in the World", as per this thread http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/topic/61877-best-speaker-in-the-world-just-got-better/?hl=acoustat#entry1051940 As they stand, they still function perfectly and to be honest, I can't hear a huge difference without the other panels. Power supply, frames, stands and transformers are all there and functioning. I also have assorted brochures and paperwork to go with them. I won't carry on about the sound here, suffice to say once you've heard these, you'll find it hard to go back to other speakers. The Roger Modjeski Amplifier is still with Roger in America. It can be shipped immediately it's needed. So there you go, a state of the art system as it stands, that can be made into a world beater with basically labour only. That stage of the project should not be undertaken lightly though. You're dealing with potentially lethal voltages here (4000v upwards) so, unless you're thoroughly familiar with something like this, don't attempt it. Pay someone else and reap the benefits. Also, be aware these speakers are just on 8 feet tall, and about 2 feet wide. So you'll need a decent sized room for them. http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/topic/56698-the-best-system-i-have-heard/?hl=acoustat#entry964891 There's plenty of information both here, and on Roger Modjeskis forum regarding this project and I'm happy for anyone here to chime in on this thread, with advice or opinions if they've heard Steve's System or Rab's.
