This pre amp was used by me for a short while with my Elektra Theatre Power Amp (this has Balanced / XLR outputs) it was purchased locally from klapp audio. it has sat in the rack unused for a long time because I upgraded to the Marantz AV 8802a it is in perfect condition - albeit a bit dusty I was going to use it in my second system but ended up going with a Denon integrated as a pre and power to watch the News and cartoons although pretty cool is kind of over kill and not WAF - already the remote collection is a topic of frequent high level discussion ..... I can plug it in and switch it on but I can assure you it’s faultless. i have all original packaging and can post at buyers cost but hopefully someone local can use it and come and pick it up Thanks Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

Further information: I have had this amp from brand new. Purchased locally from Colin Whatmough when they were in Scoresby it’s a great amp In mint condition that I have used sparingly over the past few years. Makes an awesome 2 channel set up. It works beautifully and really is in unmarked mint condition I don’t think I have the original box but will take a look under the house for it in any event if there is interstate interest I can easily package it up and pack’n’send it at buyers cost I found this information on the amp ...... With a reputation for excellence extending back more than 50 years, Marantz has long been known for their premium high-fidelity audio components built primarily for connoisseurs. Now, even music lovers on a budget can enjoy legendary Marantz sound thanks to the PM7001 integrated amplifier. It's the ideal centerpiece for those who want a top notch, two-channel audio system that won't break the bank. The PM7001 is based on design elements found in Marantz's top-of-the-line Reference Series integrated amps — using sophisticated circuitry and hand-selected components for uncompromising musicality. Its powerful, high-current construction delivers the excitement and dynamics of your favorite tunes with room-filling authority. Well recorded pianos and guitars sound natural with a strong sense of immediacy. Large orchestral groups and choirs are well integrated — with individual instruments and voices clearly distinct. You'll experience warm, transparent Marantz sound from all of your music sources. The PM7001 offers six audio inputs, including one for a turntable, to provide ample flexibility for connecting your gear. Separate pre-amp input/line-level output jacks allow you to use the PM7001 as an independent power amplifier or pre-amp for future system expansion. You can also use the line-level outputs to easily connect a powered subwoofer. Two sets of speaker outputs let you conveniently bi-wire a compatible pair of main speakers, or power a second pair of speakers in another room. The PM7001's Source Direct mode bypasses the balance and tone control circuits for enjoying the purest possible sound. Hi everyone, it's been a while since I have posted, however I recently purchased a marantz cd5005 cd for $50 in silver which had a laser pick up issue, it wasn't reading any discs, but I purchased it mainly because if this player could be repaired, it would be one of the best bargains for me. Note: I didn't take pictures of everything that I did, but hopefully you get what I did. Dismantling the player was the player and disc mechanism was the easy part. Getting the new laser mech ready for installation. As per instructions of most Sanyo laser mechanisms that I know of, the two short circuit contact points outlined in the picture above, out of the box are generally soldered together, once the assembly was done I made sure that the 16 pin ribbon cable was connected first before desoldering the short circuit contact so that it looks like the picture above where you can see two contact points. Then I just assembled everything back together ready for testing. And it's all working well, I used headphones to test the sound and is all working well with no need for further adjustment on the little pot for the laser. All put back together ready to play. The main problem was that the original laser mech had laser had gone off which I later found out was due a shredded bit of the circuit on the side of the laser mech which tells me that the player had been opened up before. But now that the player is fixed, it will be in my system for many years to come.

Further information: I picked this off another member not long ago (absolute gentlemen!) but after getting my Rotel RX-802 recapped it is 75% of what I need for the 5% of time I can listen to anything. I can verify that the reviews are accurate, this is a lush full sounding amp. The unit has a very premium look and feel. The controls are weighted and switching has a solid reassuring click that is oddly pleasurable. Copper chassis and just about the nicest speaker terminals I have ever seen are icing on the cake. Just asking for what I paid which I think was a bargain. Has manual and remote. Pick up is preferable. Photos:

Hi All, A few years back I purchased a Marantz SR6011 AVR. I use this for my movies etc and am very pleased with it. I noticed when I purchased it that while being played a demo in the audition room that the OSD was able to show over the movie being played - ie, if turning up or down you could see this information on the TV screen, same thing with changing sound modes from DD to Stereo or whatever - the options were visible on TV screen not just the (small) window on the AVR. Hooked upto the AVR I have my Oppo 205 and TV via HDMI Connections are as follows. From the Oppo 205 I have the Main HDMI out running to the TV input HDMI 1. From the Oppo 205 i have the audio only HDMI running to the AVR BluRay input From the Marantz I have the monitor/ARC back to the TV HDMI 2/ARC *If i flick to HDMI 2 on the TV during a movie I can clearly see the AVR menu system, but its the ONLY way i can make some fine adjustments to movies and at that time I can only hear the movie and am viewing the Marantz menu system. Ultimately I'd like to be able to view the movie with the Marantz menu system overlayed. The Oppo has no problem showing the OSD during movies. I would prefer not to use ARC on its own for everything. This is why I have split up the HDMI inputs and use the BluRay input on the AVR. I also don't allow control to any device. If i want the AVR to turn on i'll do it manually, same with the TV and BluRay player etc Anyone got any suggestions on what have I done/set up wrong here? My understanding that running the Oppo to the TV and AVR via there HDMI options is peferctly fine as I am splitting the picture and audio signals and also gives me the option to watch a movie without the AVR if I want to. It's been like this since I set it up, so its not a major drama but I know there is a way I can get the OSD from the AVR to work on the TV and thought I might lean on the SnA community for assistance. cheers

Further information: OK, this one hurts..... This was my first foray into hi-fi and has travelled with me for many years. It is just plain gorgeous to look at and sounds a treat. It has that warm Marantz sonic signature, but never laid back and boring. Offers 30w per channel with inputs for tape, phono and AUX. Bass, Treble AND Mid controls. Each control is nicely stepped, as is the volume control. The tuner section is excellent too - very sensitive and picks up stations with a strong signal. Wheel has a nice weight to it. AM antenna is well affixed. Bulbs were replaced several years ago and the unit had a service in approx 2015, so it should provide years of listening joy. No discernable marks on the faceplate and all lettering is intact. Now that restrictions have been eased a little in Victoria, auditions with COVID safe precautions may be possible. Happy to ship at your expense. Questions welcome. Further information: For sale is my Marantz PM-5. I have since gone down the valve route and need to move this amp on I purchased this second hand from Audio Connection approx. 3 years and I have loved it. Love the VU meters that dances along to the music (all working 100%) and the sound is huge and powerful. It switches from Class A (20 wattts) to Class AB (80 watts) via a button on the front although I have mainly ran it in Class A. Has lots of inputs including 2 phono (one with MC), preamp out and individual left and right tone controls. It also has a stunning headphone amp which make my HD-650s sing. Please note that Class A mode is working perfectly, but after having a technician have a look at it before sale, he has noted that the amp is not working properly in Class AB. This has not impacted me as I always used the amp in Class A but it needs to be noted. It can be fixed by a technician but I have a new pair of speakers coming and do not want to spend further on this amp. Thanks for looking. Hi guys I have a Marantz PM450 console amplifier, the one that accommodates 2 turntables with a fader knob to select between them. It became known as the Party Amp! Unfortunately, the right channel is distorted and sounds like the speaker is playing under water. I've tested the speakers and cables and they are fine. I've cleaned all the pots and re-soldered the 4 transistors under the big heatsink, but this hasn't fixed the issue. The issue appears when playing turntables, tuner and tape and affects the right channel of both A and B channels. I would be grateful for any pointers on how to go about resolving this. Thanks
