  1. Further information: This is a handmade sealed subwoofer I crafted a couple of years ago to use in my HT. I've decided to let it go as we've recently moved house, and it is no longer required. Its built like a tank. constructed using 25mm MDF with double thick front and rear baffles, and extensive internal bracing and dampening to eliminate any cabinet resonance. The driver used is an Alpine type R 2 Ohm DVC wired in series to achieve 4 Ohm load. The Amp 350w with variable crossover and phase switch. Dimensions are (LxWxD) 520x400x450 See attached nearfield frequency response chart. happy to send REW file to anyone interested in reviewing. Demo available for interested buyer Photos: PLEASE READ If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved You understand that a reasonable donation for selling fees is expected upon successful sale of your item - if you have previously sold items and not made a donation, your advertisement may not be approved.
  2. Further information: I'm selling my VAF DC7 loudspeakers due to a recent upgrade. These have been the mains for our lounge setup, primarily used in a 5.3 setup, crossed at 80hz and bi-amped . They have been a fantastic set of speakers providing superb rendering of both music and movie tracks. These speakers were manufactured in Adelaide by the legendary VAF acoustics - a well known and highly acclaimed speaker manufacture. I'm their second owner, having received these as a generous gift, when my father-in-law upgraded to a high end set of Spendors. The speakers were originally black ash in color, but were sprayed in a low sheen grey/white and the grills re-clothed. Happy to demo to serious buyer Full Disclosure: There is a very small slice in one of the woofers surrounds. it doesn't affect the sound in the slightest and could be easily repaired. there are a few dings on the cabinet, which I've tried to capture in the photos. 8. Hi all, I'm trying to chase down a detailed spec for a set of VAF DC7 mk4 towers I currently own. I haven't been able to find much info online and VAF haven't responded to my request. Any information or manuals you have would be greatly appreciated!
  9. Out of curiosity - what sort of power are you throwing at the r's
  10. Thanks mate, Ive decided to go for the Alpine R - especially because of the insane cost, due to the exchange rate at the moment. Thanks for the advise!
  11. Hi all, Total newbie here Does anyone have any experience/opinions on using either a UM12-22 or SWR-1242D in a 2cuft enclosure for home use? would there be a significant difference in sound quality between the two?
  12. Hi all, Im in the process of modeling various subwoofers to suit a 2cuft enclosure (net internal) paired with a 350wrms jaycar plate amp. So far the ultimax um12-22 looks the best to me, but I may be way off. Im very new to this stuff and am after some feedback for my proposed winisd design. Ideally, Im trying to achieve solid, controlled lowend output, without the boom for my home theater.
