  1. Got mine today from the World Square shop in town, they have plenty in stock. None at Chatswood until monday, but they are taking $50 deposits over the phone to hold them for you. The fella in World Sq was pretty good. The deal was so good, even hooked up a friend to buy one so yeah thanks again....now just waiting for the sucker to turn up tonight sometime

  5. Hi all, im back with a new problem I managed to get a pretty good picture just connecting the STB to the TV direct. Not the best connection but ok. ( as the RGB attachment seemed to not want to work) Anyway, went to watch tv and bingo, the picture quality via the STB is terrible, really fadeded etc. Nothing has changed in the connection system. Have tried new cables etc. Get on ok picture via just the aerial connection so i know its not the TV. Think the STB is gone? (it was running REALLY hot) Anyone have a reccomendation of a STB that goes with the Phillips TV purchased? Thanks in advance.
  6. Thanks for your help so far. I purchased a Crest SCART to RCA RGB video lead Once attached, the pink/red colour is really over the top, and unable to get a good all round colour balance. I changed the STB output . I have 3 options, RBG, CVBS and Y/C. The RGB abd CVBS give the same problem. The Y/C is bascially all blues. Can i ask again what may be the problem. Thanks in advance Cheers sam
  7. Ok, i mucked around again and this time attached the video out from the STB straight to the TV, and put the audio outs (red and white) to the amplifier i have. Seems to resolved the issue of really bad quality to just ok quality. Nothing like it was in the shop, or maybe im dreaming lol So another question if i may: 1) Getting a good quality scart to composite cable (as compared with the RCA out) will better the quality of the picture. Is it really that noticable ? 2) improve my aerial (circa 1980's) -already has a booster attached. 3) bite the bullet and get a "good" STB as suggested? Cheers
  8. Thanks Mork, i have checked the TV and it does. Fingers crossed i get a better picture. Cheers
  9. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 too simple, ill run off today and get one Thanks again
  10. Good question, um, i think i had the i had the STB via the amp and VCR. Im not entirly sure now i pulled it apart sorry. I know i didnt have it connecting directly to the TV. I thought i would connect the STB directly and assusmed that would give good quality Yes, i have SCART going to x 3 RCAs (yellow (video), red and white (audio)) attaching to the tv. The s-video is available to attach to something! (or nothing) The new Tv does have a DVI input available. So a new HD STB is an option, was trying to avioid more $$$.
  11. Hi all, Firstly, sorry if i have posted in the wrong spot, but i searched all over and found this the most appropriate. I have a Digicrystal 2000LCD set top box which was working fine on my old TV. I purchased Phillips 81cm LCD TV. On attaching the STB to the TV i am having many problems getting a clear picture. I attached the SCART outlet via x3 RCA's to the input of the TV. I get clear reception but the quailty is nowhere near the standard i was getting on the old TV. Really low quality in birghtness etc. Upon attaching the s-video outlet from the same SCART cord to the input of the TV, i get a picture that is all over the shop, like the horizontal is out, its black and white and bascially is rubbish. Thats on the AV1 channel on the TV. And i have changed the "in" and "out" button on the SCART adapter to no avail. If i change the TV channel to S-video one (and the digital box to the correct output--V something ) i get picture but again the quality is rubbish. The funny thing is, if i place a metal pen, acting kind of like an aerial to the s-video coming from the box, i get a great picutre, but of course is unstable. The TV has a DVI input, but the STB doesnt have an DVI outlet. What am i dong wrong? I have purchased new cables thinking it was those, but the same problem persists. Do i need a new box? Better aerial? Thanks in advance
