  1. Hi from Spain In fact just countries which are launching their SD dtt services since last year are doing it in H.264. The next one is Portugal, in a few months (some FTA SD services, 1 HD shared service, an many Pay-tv services SD/HD). In France only SD pay-tv services over DTT are in H.264 (along the 4 HD services available). Some countries from east-europe are launching their services in H.264 too. In Spain there were two HD H264 services in some regions (TV3 HD and AragónTV2 HD), but right now lasts just one (AragónTV2 HD), broadcasting in H264 (it's an open trial for broadcasters of any kind, so it usually changes resolution 720p<->1080i). Next year, along with ASO and new multiplexes (at least 3, getting each private broadcaster one mux, public broadcasters two of them... will be a total of 8 national MUX, plus regionals and locals muxs), the public broadcaster TVE, will launch its HD service in DTT. It is expected that other private broadcasters would do so, and of course, it'll be in H264.
  2. It seems they just upscaled the SD feed ... but the signal seems to be produced by the F1 team too. Don't know why they produced that "HD" feed (is the second time they do the same)... it almost looks better on SD: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZWSLPVYA We'll see if they get to do it right next time PS.: My friend's telling me that it depended on the camera!!! some were HD, and it looked amazing.
  3. hehe, yeah, I'm pretty far from Aus First, there's no regular HD on spanish DTT(just a trial on the region of Catalonia, in MPEG-4 10Mbps 1440x1080i AC3 audio) nor HD on any SAT platform in Spain (soon it will, but there're SAT Feeds for Nordic countries, Germany, UK, ... or even for USA). We always get F1 live (and when it comes too late[or too soon ] they also repeat it at 13:00 or so). I'm not receiving the signal, but a friend does, and he's uploading those screenshots, and this testcard Video... http://www.esnips.com/nsdoc/cf6670f0-f461-...?action=forceDL He's having problems receiving the feed anyway, but he's almost fixed it now. BTW, I could talk to an HD expert (he works for the digital section of a spanish broadcaster), and he told me 720p50 for broadcast is something unreal... it has to be rendered as 1080i and then downscale to 720p , as they did in the EBU trials. PS:As soon as he upload something else, I'll post it here
  4. F1 is for second time produced on HD in the Hungarian Grand Prix (last Time in Nürburgring , Germany). Here are screenshots of a feed for nordic theaters in MPEG-2 720p50(18.97Mbps!!) and AC3 5.1(448Kbps):
  5. Spanish National Broadcaster (TeleCinco) and Regional Broadcater (TV3 - Televisió de Catalunya. This one produces the signal for the Spanish race, in Catalunya) have also confirmed they'll broadcast F1 in 16:9. TeleCinco said at least it would be in their DTT channel "T5 Sport" ("cinco"=5), and TV3 seems to use it in their analogue signal too (no news if Tele5 would do the same in analogue). http://www.formulatv.com/1,20070310,3926,1.html (Spanish) BTW, TV3 is launching an HD Trial before Spanish race... don't know if they will make some HD-test on F1.
  6. The video from F1, is from an spanish regional TV (TV3, Cataluña). In Spain, National broadcasters with 3 or more digital TV services have MHP services (or will introduce them before 30th November 2006 as law says), by the momment there're weather forecasting, economic information, enhanced teletext service (news with photos e.g.), enhanced EPGs (really usefull in those receivers with just now&next, due to this way they can read 7 days EPGs)... Here some pics: Enhanced EPG (Antena 3): http://www.mimundotv.de/content/images/abc...dd6e3cc4182.jpg News Ticker (Antena 3): http://www.mimundotv.de/content/images/9c3...87b165bdc91.jpg Economic Information (RTVE): http://www.mimundotv.de/content/images/4b4...f7aacaef846.jpg Enhanced teletext, main Page (Antena 3): http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/727/240101347ty.jpg Weather forecast on enhanced teletext (Antena 3): http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/6097/240103426de.jpg Applying for Jobs (RTVE): http://img356.imageshack.us/img356/1121/im...682657332wi.jpg There's also an interactive app, which allows finding jobs, and next year will allow another app book for paying tax... there's also an MHP Mall App announced in short term... and more which by now are just projects. There's a non-free software called MiMundo.TV which runs MHP apps, just needs a BDA-driver compatible DVB-(T,S,C) card. (by the way, and more interesting, it has a trial version which works 100% for 30 days). You migh try it if you are interested on discovering what else is being broadcasted and you have not realize yet.
  7. Thanks a lot, we do really appreciate this. Australian MUXs are interesting, HDTV over DVB-T, as well as new digital SD channels and digital sound broadcastings. I have some questions, is statistic Bitrate?? I mean, does it change in time as picture requires more or less bitrate to send the image?, It is used in SFN MUX 68 in Spain, and quality improves a lot (it almost not show any pixelation due to low bitrates). BTW, it seems like some muxs have MHP Interactive applications (or OTA updates). In case of MHP you might take a look to a Trial program, Mimundo.TV (works with DVB-S/C/T with BDA drivers), which handles MHP Interactive applications, here are some screenshots for spanish MHP applications: MHP-EPG for Antena 3 (A3, A3.Neox, A3.Nova): http://img187.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i...663859560cr.jpg http://img187.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i...663872050kw.jpg http://www.antena3.com/TDT/presentacion/tdt.htm MHP services in RTVE channels: http://img356.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i...682683176hb.jpg http://img356.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i...682657332wi.jpg http://img472.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i...617743593gm.jpg http://img386.imageshack.us/my.php?image=i...682663222in.jpg http://img85.imageshack.us/my.php?image=im...625577965oe.jpg http://img85.imageshack.us/my.php?image=im...625619371qt.jpg MHP services in TV3 (regional TV): http://img85.imageshack.us/my.php?image=im...625594539sw.jpg Actually, those are different now (these are from last December-January), now there are more, but we've not captured them yet... Try it if you please, and if it works... well, post some screenshots too Regards. Ps.: France and Belgium DTT (take a look, pay-TV services are in MPEG4): TNT (Television Numerique Terrestre)( 6/March/2006 ) : Reseaux 1, Reseaux 2, Reseaux 3,Reseaux 4, Reseaux 5 (Not in use), Reseaux 6. Belgium DTT( 6/March/2006 ) : RTBF, Be TNT.
  8. Hi, I'm from Spain and I'm currently looking for some DVB-T information. For a long time we've been analysing MUXs, gathering resolutions, bitrates, services... for many different countries, but it's been almost imposible to gather australian DTT information In order to get this huge information, we use TSReader, a free tool which provides lots of information, really useful by the way. Well, it's better see it: Spanish Digital Frequencies (available from Barcelona, Cataluña): DVB-H TEST Barcelona TV (Local TV MUX) EDC(Wide Area TV MUX) TV Cataluña MUX 1(Wide Area TV MUX) TV Cataluña MUX 2(Wide Area TV MUX) RTVE MUX (National TV MUX, Cataluña Broadcast) SFN MUX 66(National TV MUX) SFN MUX 67(National TV MUX) SFN MUX 68(National TV MUX) SFN MUX 69(National TV MUX) As you can see, there's no HDTV (at least until switch-off, 2010), no widescreen (actually, that's in short term plans), but there're many channels, some digital radios, and interactive services (MHP).... That web-pages are generated with TSReader, so it's simple for you, if you want and if you can, to help us with it What do we want? We'd like you to help us, just analysing your MUX (Digital frequencies) with this tool, and showing your results. This is as helpful for us as for you, so you'll be able to see how bradcasters plays with their channels, resolutions, and understand how can they improve it. Regards, Josezkaos. By the way, if you are interested, we can share the rest of our information gathered for months (maybe not many, but interesting).
