  1. Yes that should give you a true 50hz. Lots of people do this with the transcoder i am trying to hunt down, and it works fine. It appears to be a limitation of the component out part of the nvidia cards.
  2. Sure hope this doesn't break the rules, but i'm after a TC2000 VGA to Component Transcoder. http://www.crescendo-systems.com/transcoder.html I've seen them for sale here before, so i hope somone may have one lying around after upgrading sets to something with HDMI/DVI etc
  3. Yeah the MediaCenter 60hz thing is an issue, but i don't even get that far. Setting 50hz in powerstrip has no effect.
  4. Thanks DMK, it seems i am not imaging it afterall! Don't suppose anyone has a Transcoder for sale? :-) http://www.crescendo-systems.com/transcoder.html
  5. Naturally. And i've tried MCE2005 and Vista.
  6. Thanks, yes i've seen the massive thread at AVSforum, but still no luck. I've actually using an ASUS M2NPV-VM, it's got an integrated nVidia 6150 video card which has component out and is PureVideo optimised blah blah which according to the guys over at XPMediacenter.com.au is a great integrated HTPC solution... except it seems most everyone uses DVI / VGA and stupid me thought the integrated component would work as well....
  7. THanks for the response. Without seeming to be rude, could i confirm though that a) you are using component out and that you are sure it is actually doing 1080i 50hz and isn't just claiming to thanks!
  8. Hey guys, I'm trying to connect my new HTPC to my Panny TX47P500H teev (some DTV old timers might remember them). I'm using component out, and trying to sync at 1080i. Unfortunately the nVidia card doesn't want to do 50hz which the panny insists on. Even with Powerstrip, i can't get the timing right. I've read various posts around the web that claim that nVidia cards just don't do 50hz at 1080i over component, and they just output 60hz anyway. There are lots of posts i can find with people claiming they have it at 50hz, but the all seem to be people with TV's that work with both freq's, so i am starting to believe the claims that the cards just don't do 50hz. Has anyone here had any success with a 50hz only TV at 1080i ? I'll buy whatever card i need to as atm i have a useless HTPC. I don't feel like buying a new TV as there is nothing wrong with the current one, and i can't really afford a 47" or larger plasma or LCD.
  9. Dropped in today for my yearly seach to look for a new firmware for the 2000A. Thought someone might have hacked it and released a homebrew mod. Anyway, mine is still going strong, strangely enough, the red chroma problem seems to have dissapeared on mine. It used to annoy the hell out of me too. Is it really 4 years i've had this thing? I remember buying it so i could watch multi-channel bathurst the year it was released, and then was pissed when i discovered how long it took to change channels. Funny the things you get used to. All in all though, considering it was a 1st gen product, it's still going strong.
