  1. Pretty straightforward if you're doing a 3.5mm/SE female cable, it took me all of 10 minutes. It's also possible to do balanced either via a 4-pin mini XLR on one cup, or dual 2.5/3.5mm mono on either cup which adds a bit of dremmelling to the equation.
  2. Further information: Hey guys, with a bit of spare time on my hands these days (thanks COVID!) I've been doing a few headphone modification projects, including this Beyerdynamic T70p. The T70p was Beyerdynamic's flagship Tesla-driver portable headphone, and with only 32 ohms impedance and an extremely easy-to-drive sensitivity rating of 104dB/mW they work extremely well with phones, laptops, and other portable devices. I had a hunch that these would make a terrific pair of gaming headphones due to their astonishing clarity and extremely wide soundstage, and so I performed a detachable cable mod which allows any 3.5mm cable to be used with them (including boom mics for gaming like the one pictured, but it's not included in the sale). I've upgraded the pads to a pair of aftermarket sheepskin ones which greatly aid in isolation and low-end response, and I've added a hemp-fibre headband mainly for aesthetics which I think looks kinda cool with the Beyerdynamic bomb-proof build and aesthetics. Included in the sale is a clamshell-style protective case and a 3.5mm aux cable, but of course you can use any cable of your own that you like with these. These will make for a terrific pair of portable high-end cans, but will be equally happy on a desktop, needing only a low-powered amp to shine. They also work great plugged straight into a Xbox controller. 3. These are cheap, cheerful and sound 'pretty good' https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/ag/products/ag-whp01k-wireless-noise-cancelling-headphones?variant=39324497084550
  4. Is the headphone jack on the front? You're probably fine, impedance-wise - high impedance cans are fine with either low or high-impedance outputs, but that's not true of low-impedance cans. The HD800s is fairly sensitive so you shouldn't have much trouble making them go 'loud'. If it sounds great to you, happy days. You can always plug a modest dedicated headphone amp into your preamp down the track if you so choose.
  5. Item: Decware Zen Taboo Mk IV amplifier Price Range: ~$1,500 Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: I know this is a bit of a long shot, but if you have one of these (or a similar Decware amp) I'd be keen to chat if you're thinking about letting it go. Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can delete this text before pressing Submit).
  6. I like to send each one of them "offers" of $749.
  7. These look so nice. They seem like a far more interesting way to spend that kind of money than buying a second-hand Toyota Yaris.
  8. Bump on this - anyone have a pair they want to sell/trade?
  9. The lack of supply on the Xbox Series X (and the state of price gouging on Scumtree etc) really is a bit of a joke. Good luck!
  10. Further information: Up for sale are a beautiful pair of custom solid timber speaker stands which were commissioned by a local woodworker. They're 20cm (H) x 14cm (W) x 14cm(D), and would suit a nearfield or bookshelf-type arrangement. They're slightly too small for my Elac 2.0 6.2's, and so unfortunately I just don't have room for them any more. They have rubber isolation pads installed on the base of each. I've added some rubber 'dots' to the tops of them, but they can be easily removed. They've quite heavy - around 4.5kg each, and so might be a little exxy to post. I'm happy to post if someone is keen, but would prefer local pick-up. 11. Utopia, D8000, Verite Open, HD800s all ought to give you more 'wow'. What's your preferred sound signature?
  12. Ugh, I know this probably the only one I'll see for the next year or so, but I also really need $1850 right now. Unless... @Panimation wants to trade this for a Grado Hemp/Asgard 3 Multibit/Audeze Sine DX/Carton of Bowlo Draught package deal? : )
  13. Item: Beyerdynamic DT1350 Price Range: ~$100 / TBD depending on age/condition Item Condition: Used Extra Info: Just after a pair of these for a modding project. I had them years ago and only sold them because I hated the cable. I'm ok with old/worn ones. Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can delete this text before pressing Submit).
  14. I'd be most happy to take one for the team. I've been using my A2Noire daily during COVID + daily building reno for the past couple of months, so keen to hear what an A2 on 'roids' can do.
