  1. Is a great album, I picked this up at a sale many years ago (early 90s I think). Bought a few of these Windham Hill with different artists, paid $1 per album and all brand new and unopened. Vinyl was practically being thrown out then in the rush to CD.
  2. I actually bought a pair of the Whatmough 201s around 1994 with jarrah finish, beautiful sounding speakers. These were later upgraded by Whatmough to the Kevlar tweeter. These were bought from a shop in Kew, I think from memory the guy who demoed these was named Alex. I also bought the Arcam Delta 290 integrated amp which they were demoing together with the speakers. Later that year, I bought the Arcam Delta 270 CD player from them as well. Traded everything in around 7-8 years later as we were downsizing living space but have regretted it ever since. One of the best and most musical speakers i ever heard. cheers, Savas
  3. I have two Lenco 75s. The first is with plywood 6 layer plinth, Norbert idler, Isonoe feet, SDS Isoplatmat and modded bearing. This uses an Audio Technica AT-1005 mk2 tonearm. The second is a standard plinth Lenco 75 with only mod being the Rega RB300 tonearm. Having tried both tonearms on each table, my preference is very much the AT-1005 mk2.
  4. Beautiful amp, and looks so impressive! Unfortunately, not in Vic.
  5. Hi Steveoz, Yes have to agree with you that these are very natural sounding amps and would also likely benefit from a restoration. My first Luxman and likely to buy another one at some point in the future. Unfortunately I have too much equipment that just sits around unused so have decided to let some things go. Currently alternating between a Sansui AU 505 and a Sansui AU 555 in order to decide which of these two will be let go next. Also a couple of Lenco L75s sitting around as spares and I am trying to decide whether or not I will commence another plinth rebuild (the last project took just over 4 years to finish). Too many things on the go and not enough time! Cheers, Savas
  6. Further information: The Luxman L-2 is a 33W per channel, built in 1980. I would describe the sound as smooth and build quality on these units is excellent. There are a few restoration/upgrade projects for these amps to be found online. I bought this amp from the original owner approximately 3 years ago. It has done very light duties in that time, being used mainly to drive my Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. I am now using a Sansui AU 555 which was purchased from a fellow SNAer to drive the headphones so its time for this amp to find a new home. I have used the phono and aux inputs (Chromecast Audio) and both work fine. Have also connected speakers and they work as well. The amplifier is in similar condition as to when I purchased it. There are some light marks etc, but given it age, I would rate this as in good condition. 7. Further information: I am the original owner and this phono stage has been a very good performer. Have also used together with a SUT and MC cartridge, but now letting it go as I am trying to downsize my collection of hifi equipment. 8. Hi Gary, I had my Audio Technica AT-1005 II rewired earlier this year by a company based in Scotland called The Vinyl Source (https://www.thevinylsource.co.uk/) - they were a recommnedation on the Lenco Heaven site. You can email Marco and find out if he can do the work you require. I am very happy with the work done and quick turnaround time (my tonearm was back within 8 weeks) and Marco was very quick to respond to my queries. Price is dependant on the wiring you choose. Cheers, Savas
  9. I actually own a couple of the AT3600L cartridges, I buy used albums pretty regularly and don’t always bother to clean them before playing. I agree with you, it really is a great sounding cartridge.
  10. I hear you t_mike regarding the vac drying but my collection of hifi equipment and associated paraphernalia has once again grown out of control, so when something new comes in, something has to go. Cheers Savas
  11. Thank you very much for your detailed post, I really appreciate. I think your suggestion re purchasing an AT95E is probably most sensible thing to do. cheers, Savas
  12. Further information: Too much equipment so I have started to cull. The Luxman L-2 is a 33W per channel, built in 1980. I would describe the sound as smooth and build quality on these units is excellent. There are a few restoration/upgrade projects for these amps to be found online. I am now using a Sansui AU 555 which was purchased from a fellow SNAer to drive the headphones so its time for this amp to find a new home. I have used phono and aux inputs (Chromecast Audio attached) and both work fine. Have also connected speakers and they work as well. The only thing I did was to sand back the metal lid and spray painted, it black. Other than that, is in similar original condition as to when I purchased it. There are some light marks etc, but given it age, I would rate this as in good condition. 14. Hi V-Tek, thank you for your interest. I have already been PM'd regarding the cartidge so will have to let you know. Kind regards, Savas
  15. Further information: I am selling my KAB EV-1 record cleaner as I have recently purchased an ultrasonic cleaner and need to make space for it. The EV-1 does not come with built in motor so you will need a vacuum cleaner to attach to it. This unit was my first venture into RCMs and has served me very well over the years. The original applicator brush is included in the sale, but in recent times, I have been using paint edger brush to apply cleaning solution and I found this worked better for me. I am also including with the sale a 'Nitty Gritty Style Vac Sweep Replacement Kit' which has 3 replacement felt strips.
