  1. Update- using a external pedestal fan I was able to play music continuously for 4+ hours. Of course YMMV and this the condition that this Yggy is being sold as is. Problem updated in the OP. Now for sale again
  2. So a bit of an update. I tested the Yggy without the outer casing and these were the results : I was able to output music continuously for the first 3hrs, then the no output issue appeared. I then switched it off and waited a short 10 mins (everything is still warm) and I was able to output music for another 6hrs+ and still going strong. Removing the casing seems to have helped with the issue, but not entirely solve it. To my untrained eye, there doesn't appear to be anything rattling/loose. Everything looks pretty solid. Not sure what I want to do next yet, but it does seem to relate to a heat issue. I'll be doing a bit further testing tomorrow with airflow and will let everyone know what I decide to do with it.
  3. @Bengineer I will give that a go actually. Thanks for the suggestion. Status is HOLD.
  4. Further information: Schiit Audio Yggdrasil multibit DAC 230V model in Silver colour with Australian plug. RRP $2500USD / $4000 AUD Original model with AD5791 DAC chips and with the original USB implementation. Physically it is in excellent condition. **UPDATE - Known Issue** The unit is prone to overheating. With the case on, I am able to get 1-2 hrs of music output before the DAC no longer outputs audio and needs to be cooled before it can be used again (can take about 1-2hrs, depends on ambient temperature). With the case off I was able to get 3 hrs of output followed by a 10-15min break and then could play for 6hrs+. The overheating can be alleviated with a pedestal fan with the casing off. Of course these were my observations in my own conditions and your experience and conditions may be different. The unit is sold as is. I have been recommended to send it back to Schiit Audio as it is out of warranty. Could be an easy fix for someone who understands electronics. But I have to let these goes as other priorities have taken over. Headphones were bought in December 2016 and have been hardly broken in as I just don't have that much time anymore. The Forza Copper Series HPC Mk2 2.5m balanced cable included in this package sounds great and most importantly reduces the cable weight by a significant margin, allowing for hours of fatigue free listening. My lost is your gain. Pick up is preferred around the south west Sydney area, postage will be at buyers expense. Paypal fee is at buyers expense.
