  1. Take it from someone who has had S4 v2 and now the S6 v2 - the S6 v3 are awesome and at this price an absolute bargain. The front firing port makes them super easy to place too. The v3 has quite high sensitivity (2db more than the v2) and can be run off amps with low power (I’ve run S6 v2 off of an 18w valve amp they were amazing). GLWS
  2. Further information: Purchased from Addicted To Audio around 12-18 months ago, these headphones have been used for only a few hours and primarily stored in their case/box. They were going to be used for travel, however I changed job shortly after purchasing and travel was no longer required. They're excellent headphones and are extremely comfortable, come with a really nice travel case which protects them if you're ever on the move, the cable is easily detachable, and the sound quality is extremely good. Price includes shipping and includes everything that they originally shipped with (headphones, adaptor, box, travel case, manual, misc documents). Its all there and in perfect 'as-new' condition. Even heavily discounted on A2A they're still $800, so this is a saving of $300. Any questions let me know, I'm happy to answer them. Have a good one, stay safe, and cheers. 3. Welcome from CBR :). As others have said, Miranda and Duratone and the main stores in Canberra, but keep an eye on the Classified forums here for some really good deals on equipment. If you have any audio questions at all or need some recommendations just reach out, I'm always happy to help people who are just starting out. Cheers and all the best.
  4. Likely mentioned earlier, but can't say enough good things about William (Will/Bill) Crampton (The Factory Audio) in Canberra. Has worked on pure tube amps to pure solid state and excellent to deal with. Really nice guy, extremely knowledgeable, and good communication. Any questions PM me
  5. Just an FYI in case anyone needs a Halcro serviced. I've been speaking with Lance Hewitt at Halcro (and Natalie O'Neill, she's been really helpful too) and I was able to work on diagnosing a small problem in my DM38 (likely just 20 year old capacitors drifting) and then arrange to send in my DM38 for repair. Very quick responses, they arranged shipping etc. lance.hewitt@halcro.com natalie.oneill@halcro.com I spent a while digging through forums to find a possible contact, but can confirm at July/Aug 2021 that they're alive, responding and very nice to deal with Any questions PM me Cheers - Penance
  6. Further information: Purchased around 18-24 months ago, this DAP was used lightly for around 6 months after purchase as a portable amp and then saw duties as an FPGA DAC from my PC. I'd advise people to look up the details online as there are a large amount of features, but suffice it to say that the player sounds extremely good, can run a multitude of file types, and can output both standard and balanced connections. Sound quality is amazing, balanced output especially, and the user interface is very clean. Has some cool features like a vinyl simulator, auto balance leveling, equalizer etc. An update from Sony a year or so ago transformed it into a DAC that could stream via USB too, so it can be used for that as well now. Do note though, using it as a USB DAC does have a delay, so it can be used for music, but not recommended for movies unless you manually re-sync the audio. Using it as a bluetooth receiver however doesn't have the delay, its only when used via USB. Sale price includes shipping. All accessories are included and it comes in the original unmarked box. Happy to answer any questions if you have any, just let me know. All the best, stay safe, and cheers. 8. Further information: Purchased around 3 months ago off a reputable Australian eBay seller who had it serviced. The intention was for it to be put into a retro system, but that's since been converted to a valve-based system so this amplifier has sat idle for most of the time I've had it. I've used it as a power-amp too (with the Sprout100 I listed as DAC/pre-amp) and it was excellent. The design is what lured me in originally, but the performance can definitely back up the looks. - 30 Watts per channel (into 8 ohms) - Can be used as an integrated, pre-amp or power-amp - Has a built-in phono pre-amplifier - Recently serviced and it looks amazing. - Can run two sets of speakers off of it and activate via buttons on the unit - All kinds of eq and bass-boost etc. Any questions let me know. I'm selling it for the same price I purchased it for (I estimated shipping at $50) as I really want someone to enjoy this amp for its looks and its sound. I wouldn't mind keeping it, but its just too nice to sit in a cupboard for years. All the best, take care, and cheers. 9. Further information: PS Audio Sprout100 (Sprout 2) purchased from Magenta Audio around 2 years ago. New price is AU$1,295.00, so you can save AU$450. For such a compact amp the feature list is ridiculous: - DAC (USB and digital in) - Speaker Amp (100W per channel) - Pre-Amp - Phono Amp - Subwoofer out - Bluetooth streamer - Remote control - 100-240v universal PSU - Even has a walnut finish top I've used this unit in a multitude of roles, primarily as my computer setup DAC/amp and DAC/pre-amp and its been amazing. The only reason I'm selling it is I've gone to full size components, otherwise it'd be doing the same awesome job it always has been. Hasn't been used for a few months and I'd honestly I'd prefer it to be making someone else smile as opposed to sitting in its box. With 100W per channel it can drive pretty much any speaker, though I'll admit this unit has had a rather easy life (primarily driving JohnBlue JB3 3" driver speakers, though its had a few hours on larger speakers to see what it could do). Is in perfect condition and includes remote, manual, stickers, and the original packaging. Price includes shipping costs to major cities, however if you're very remote/regional I'll quote it up and we can discuss. Any questions let me know, happy to answer. 10. Solid DAC, Digital Volume Control, renameable inputs and also has HDMI pass through for stereo sound. Good luck with the sale
  11. Item: McIntosh MA-6900 Integrated Amplifier Location: ACT Price: $4500 (Cheapest equivalent wattage AutoFormer McIntosh new (MA-6700) is $12,995.00 AUD!) Item Condition: 9/10. Aus delivered 240v. No scratches, marks or issues and all lights/inputs/knobs etc work without scratching, just 9/10 as I only have the internal cardboard box, not the external box. Main power caps were replaced with genuine McIntosh a few years ago as part of servicing (not due to a fault, just precaution), otherwise its completely original and functioning perfectly. Reason for selling: Have upgraded and also now moving house. Didn't sell last time it was up, so time for round two! Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Shipping / Delivery: I’ll personally deliver it to CBR or SYD, however its too heavy (30+ KG) so I'm not keen on shipping it at present. If you're in Melb we can probably work something out (excuse to take the Mrs on a trip). Extra Info: Bought this a few years ago from another SNA member and it’s been my main amplifier since then. I searched for a clean Australian-Delivered AutoFormer McIntosh integrated with the current look for a long time before pulling the trigger on this and haven’t regretted a day of owning it. Only selling due to an upgrade, otherwise this would be sitting in my study for the rest of days. Have run it with speakers all the way from passive-modded AudioEngine A2 through to Paradigm Signature S4v2 and S6 v2 and it consistently sounds excellent. 99% of the time its been operated via remote and volume is changed at the source, so all physical components have barely been touched in the years I’ve had it. The VU meters and lamps are all functioning without issue and the VU meters dance around as you’d expect ?. The MA-6900 has 200 watts per channel, AutoFormers, can be run as a pre-only or power-only (jumpers at back of amp) device and also has a MM phono input, headphone-out and remote control. Comes with the internal box of the original double box [external got thrown out without my knowledge while we moved to a new house ☹]. Pictures: Will post these up over the weekend!
