  1. They are in my opinion identical. I found the plans on a speaker forum in USA
  2. Further information: The story About 5 years ago, I bought a the bass units for these speakers from a Stereonet member for about $3300. These are the original Wilsons in their crates. I then went on a mission to complete the set but the Tiny Tots were way beyond my budget. I then searched and found plans and specs, including the crossovers and drivers on the net . I was fortunate to find the Focal Tweeters and ScanSpeak Bass Mids NOS in Melbourne for about $1000 all up. Then I found a cabinet maker in Melbourne who had been recommended by a Stereonet member and he built the Tots according to the specs and many internet images., including the grab handles which apparently were on the originals for ease of use in a studio. He recommended a spray painter who sprayed the speakers in a shiny black to match the bass units. Next, Dr Sound built the crossovers, using the very best components and I sourced the other hardware. These speakers weigh a ton. And even though I love lugging my speakers around, I cannot move them without help. Included are the 4 pieces, floor spikes, and I think I can find the grilles somewhere (no guarantee). The Tots stand on the lip of the bass units and I used to adjust the angle with custom built wedges of three different degrees. (I suggest the same, but you have to make. source your own wedges) Condition: Obviously these are used, so don;t expect "mint" - but they look and sound amazing. If you, like me, have often dreamt of a owning a massive world class speaker, these are just that. For years, I used the Tots only and they are in my opinion, worth the asking price on their own. (Check the specs, dimensions etc, on the net,) Courier is an option -- and is included in the price. 4. Thanks for the reply -- loved reading your notes. I am no so fortunate to have original AN E's -- they are clones that I purchased recently.
  5. I have been on a slow journey of improvement in my hifi setup. My current set up is a purple Eric McChanson single ended amp and a pair of Audio Notes (EN's) with a NOS JVC Q50 DD tt with a SoundSmith stylus and a Grace cartridge as a source. I had never thought of B & O as an option. Then, along came an opportunity to purchase a pair of Beolab 12.1 powered speakers at a good price, (The owner had moved into a retirement home and his son found them in a cupboard -- no cables -- untested - a risky purchase) So, I took a punt, offered to buy them and the next and they were delivered to me. A google search directed me to Heavenly Sounds, a UK home based cable manufacturer from whom I ordered the cables. It took a month for the cables to arrive -- on Monday. I hooked the speakers up to my smart TV and typed in "HD Music" in the you tube search. The rest is history, as they say. Most of my listening , since then, , for the past week has been from you tube HD --a variety of genres, with stunning images of audiophile setups provided . (free!). My most memorable was a Miles Davis lossless version of Kind Blue (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uUCIQ50e-4&ab_channel=SevmaiSol) What I find so tantalising about these speakers are: Amazing: clarity; imaging; deep bass in a gorgeous package of 2 powered speakers which have a 99% WAF. I am astonished. Just think of it: each speaker has 4 amps: 80 w x 2 (bass); 80 w (mid); 80 w (tweeter) 320 watts per channel of ICE power. What's not to like? (Pic of one, attached.) Today I checked eBay (out of interest) and there were quite a few different iterations of Beolabs at quite affordable prices. Never say never.

  7. Hi Everyone, Here is the problem: My Hisense TV has only digital out for audio (toslink) but I want to connect it to my analogue amp (a pair of rca inputs) Has anyone had this issue and how did you solve it? I am thinking of buying a cheap DAC which has a toslink input and RCA outs and then connecting my tv to my stereo amp. Viola! (I do not want to spend silly money...) TIA Trevor
  8. I wish that I can one day understand what all of this means. Sounds like lot of fun, especially the "bubble" . Enjoy!!
  9. Don't get me wrong _ I have a huge record collection and a listen to at least one lp per day. And. it's a great hobby and visitors are uber impressed when they see rows and rows of vinyl on the shelves. I am replacing all of the sleeves with crystal sleeves from Dutch Vinyl - 10 per night. It's a great hobby. But for clean, accurate sound, a well recorded cd is simpler and sounds better. Great discussion...
  10. It's a pity because cds sound much better than Lps in every way except "vintage vibe" on old recordings. But I enjoy carefully removing a record, admiring the cover and reading the liner notes....
