Further Information

This is a 1976 Japanese Trio KP-R305 belt drive semi automatic turntable (Much more commonly known outside of Japan and online as the Kenwood KD-2055). Very heavy (11kg) as the chassis is made of Kenwood’s proprietary Anti Resonance Compression Base or ARCB synthetic granite/marble material. ARCB spawned many imitators, but this is the original and best, also found on the iconic KD-500 and KD-600. The bottom base is made of a 18mm thick lauan plywood. The result is a high performance turntable that looks great.

This one is in excellent condition. No scratches on the lid, hinges in good condition and RCA interconnects replaced with gold plated ones, runs silently, auto-return works smoothly. I bought it freshly imported and serviced last year (new belt fitted, new idler wheel, cleaned and re-lubed etc). Never had a problem with it and always loved it. Only selling as we've got our first baby on the way so I need to downsize the hi-fi and have chosen to go with the smallest footprint one I have (Technics SL-7). You'll need a step down transformer though as this is a Japanese import.

Comes with an AT-3600 cartridge (less than 20 hrs use), manual, spec sheet and also a replica stylus gauge that I printed and die-cut to match the official one that was originally included with the TT.

Read a bit more about it (including a bit more detail on the inner workings) here: https://liquidaudio.com.au/kenwood-kd-2055-belt-drive-turntable-repair/

Pickup only, I should be able to demonstrate it as well (subject to the baby's arrival!),

Thanks
