Further Information

Hi Everyone,

I'm still in the process of assisting a close friend liquidate a vast majority of his Hi Fi equipment as he is transitioning into Aged Care Centre shortly and unfortunately cannot take the majority of his equipment with him to the centre.  We are currently in the process of cleaning out his apartment and only have until the end of October before the lease on his apartment is terminated.

Here’s a pair of the well known and highly reviewed Sennheiser HD800 headphones that my friend Gary purchased new from Len Wallis Audio in Lane Cove, NSW in early 2011 along with an upgraded set of Cardas Cross Headphone cables he bought online from Audio Advisor USA shortly after.

As much as he loved the sound of these headphones, he only used them for the first couple of years and then packed them in a cupboard and replaced them with a physically lighter style of Grado headphones.

During this clear out of his home, I discovered these headphones, box, cable and receipt all together wrapped up in a shopping bag. During my inspection, I discovered the cushion in the headband had perished and I have just bought and installed a new headband cushion, the earpads are in a usable condition, but I would suggest that the purchaser seek a new set that is to their liking and for the sake of cleanliness, although there’s nothing dirty about the current ones. As result of this, I have graded the condition of these headphones as very good instead of excellent.

I have tested this pair of headphones across 3 different source equipment ranging from a MAD Ear Purist+ tube based headphone amplifier to a Bottlehead Crack OTL tube based headphone amplifier to a headphone driver circuit from a Audiolab 8000a integrated amplifier with over 30hrs of listening with no issues what so ever that I could hear and or discern.

Supplied packed in the original inner and outer box, OEM headphone cable and upgraded Cardas Cross cable and newly fitted headband cushion, booklet, receipt and Cardas authentication certificate for the Cardas Cross cable. If memory serves, the Cardas Cross cable upgrade alone back in 2011/12 was between $250 to $400 USD....

Adding this snip of a message I just received to give full transparency and be fair to the community ->

SNA member message -> "Oh sorry, I think I accidently click the purchase button, but I think I'm gonna buy it"

My reply ->

"Hi there,

Well, until confirmation that one is BUYING and monies appear in my bank account, I'll consider this as "available" and I'll post a snip of your error on the product listing to ensure total transparency towards the StereoNet community.

Cheers,

Lok"
