Further Information

A previous unknown owner got the laser replaced but the person must of dropped the metal cd tray because the bit that engages the switch to keep the tray open has broken off. Also the ribbon was installed incorrectly but that’s been corrected. My repair guy has glued a bit onto the tray and it is now functional but I’ll need another tray long term.

if you have a Sony 338ESD player that is dead or have access to a tray, please let me know.

An Alloy tray from a Sony CDP308 ESD should fit, I think is the same. I have one but it is in a storage box in a storage shed.

Not sure when I will be getting the stuff out of storage but send me a DM and I can let you once I gain access.

Hello,

sounds good. I’ll check with my repair guy to see if he knows.

Thank you,

Drew
