Further Information

Well, I haven't been willing to part with this amp despite previous unsolicited inquiries, but am now popping this 300B Time Machine by Weston Acoustics up for sale, and like the name, it is only due to TIMEing. This amp was singing in one of my systems and I am 100% happy with it, but have a toddler getting into everything and am worried about him burning himself on the valves. I switched the Weston out for a caged tube amp where he can't get his mitts on the tubes. So, It is with a heavy heart that I offer it for sale, but I will be very happy to know that someone is enjoying it.

This amp was originally an earlier build, but was ENTIRELY rebuilt and bought up to the newest build specs by Earle in March 2023 with basically all new parts aside from chassis and transformers. This amp already has Earle's highest level hand wound transformers that are only available in his custom builds (NB: All his transformers are wound in house, but these are the most labour intensive version), so it is higher spec than the standard build that starts at $3,9950. I bought the amp from the previous owner and the original build was from around 2009from memory. The re-built amp was completely rewired, new caps, RCA inputs (aside form one pair that had already been upgraded), binding posts, feet, handles, nobs etc. Aside from the rebuild, it was entirely cleaned by Earle and the transformers and transformer cases re-painted. In all operational aspects, it is a brand new amp except with highest level original transformers. Earle was complimentary about the 300b's I have in there and thought they were a top match for the amp, and put them in his tube tester and they came up as nearly new. This amp would only see a few hours of play a week, some weeks less play, and my estimation is that it is burnt in (given all the brand new parts) , and not far beyond that. I'd describe it as warm and musical, well rounded and robust in the bottom end, clear in the mids and sweet in the highs. I'd say it is a classic tube amp in that it has a romantic tone rather than some modern tube amps that strive for a near solid state neutrality.

I'll consider postage but if someone local-ish snaps it up you will be in driving distance to Earle should you ever wish to bring the amp to him for a service.

Earle Weston featured the rebuild on his Facebook page. See pics and work done from the rebuild below.
