Can you connect an external DAC to this streamer via USB?

I am not a technical enthusiast but there is no USB output and both the coaxial and SPDIF outputs connect to an external DAC if required.

hi @The Fez you will need to add a DDC (digital to digital convertor) if you want to connect using USB.  The Douk Audio XMOS XU208 is a good budget option - Amazon has it for $99.  Alternatively, you can get higher end models too - any DDC that will accept SPDIF and convert it to USB will do it.

You could also can get a streamer that outputs USB already e.g. there's a Eversolo A6 or Matrix Audio Mini I-4 used for sale. But these are $800-1k.

This is from the N130 Manual:

USB OUTPUT (TYPE A) The NODE is capable of transferring digital audio (USB Audio 2.0) through to an external DAC via the USB Type-A slot. Using a USB cable (not provided), connect one end to the USB output of the NODE and the other end to the corresponding USB input on a separate DAC device. Select your USB DAC from the NODE’s Audio settings page in the BluOS App to bypass the NODE’s internal DAC via USB audio out. *this feature will be available through a future BluOS software update

Good catch @Dolphy  I didn’t actually check. I just provided info on ddc. But now that you mention it. I can see a USB port A on the photos. And manual seems to confirm it’s an output. So all good @The Fez to output to a DAC.

From what I've read elsewhere, you need to connect the DAC first, make sure that usb is selected, then go into the settings on node and select usb DAC.
