It does turn on and play some CDs consistently and in full, others it will jump around and others come up with 'no disc'. Does sound quite good to excellent when it works.

 

I have tried to adjust the laser voltage but can't find a happy spot. My guess is a laser replacement will see many years of enjoyment. 

I cleaned and lubed tray etc but it does sometimes still get stuck on closing but a little nudge sees it close

Could probably do with a new belt.

 

Happy to ship at new custodians expense. Has original box but no remote or cable

Well, if you tried to "adjust the laser voltage", then indeed, in two weeks time the laser will be due for replacement.

I happen to have a matching Audiolab 8000A amplifier which might be ofinterest to the new owner 😉

It was due already. I could have just thrown it out

Lasers typically last many decades.

I have seen some 40 year old players with lasers only 10% used up.
