Further Information

Aurealis R1 Dragon Balanced XLR Cable - Silver and Copper Litz 1 metre

1 month old. Like new. Including original bag. Approximately 20 - 30 hours use.

Features: (from website)

7 Litz wires per channel.  Silver and copper Litz are combine in the signal paths (Pin 2 and Pin 3)

As with the RCA version, 3 different gauges of Litz wire are used - 24, 26 and 28 awg

The Litz wire used is our own premium Litz.  This is a genuine UPOCC Litz with a very high strand count and each strand insulated in enamel.  There are around 100 signal carriers on Pin 2 and Pin  3 of this cable.  This results in immaculate detail, a great sound stage, and a cable that is very close to lossless

The Litz wire is supported by the wonderful ETI Kryo XLRs.  These use silver-plated copper pins insulated in a teflon block.

Cotton sheathing and a foamed teflon tube are used for support and to dampen microphonics

Double external braiding with the outside braid in the green and black Dragon colours

Cheers.

Ill insert this which was my answer to a question from someone this morning to put it in context.

It wasn't that I didn't like them or they aren't any good. I had recently bought Nordost Blue Heaven speaker cable which I really liked. A second hand set of the old version of Blue Heaven XLRs came up on Stereonet which I impulse bought after ordering the Dragons. When they arrived I put them in just to see if there was any difference. I was quite impressed by how much more transparency and detail I was hearing compared to the Dragons. The newer Blue Heaven, although run out versions, were available from where I bought my speaker cables, and in another impulse buy I bought them. They arrived last night and I installed them and they just impressed me with the similar improved transparency and detail along surprisingly, with an improvement in bass.

In isolation and without being inadvertently exposed to the Nordost cables, I would have happily settled on the Dragons but there you go. I am not however experimenting any more. I cant afford it! 😬

Hey.

No no issue here.

******Everybody buys what works best for them and no product is the universal answer.*******

The good thing is that you found what works for you and that is the most important part

Also you should get a lifetime of great sound from your new cables, so no  need to switch again. Happy days mate.
