Up for sale is a Music Angel XD-SE 845 with Lampizator upgrades done by the legendary Tim at TunedIn Audio in Hornsby NSW (1.5 years ago at significant cost) with Tim saying he "will make it the best example to date". Rest assured all internals and circuitry are A1+. (Note: This is now a power amplifier, not integrated - the volume control and input selection are disabled, but left in place should anyone ever wish to convert it back to an integrated amp)

Class A single-ended 845 power amplifier outputting a powerful 22W per channel. Both 4 and 8 ohm speaker outputs. The amp is in excellent condition.

Sale includes matched pair of Shuguang WE845 tubes and matched quad of Linlai E-6SN7 tubes. The tubes alone are worth more than the asking price and were only ever used with this amp. Will also throw in the stock Shuguang 845 tubes it came with.

The amp was converted from an integrated to a power amplifier and now runs two 845 tubes but with four 6SN7 tubes as input. It could always be turned back into an integrated amp if you wanted to - reach out to Tim!

I got the amp from a very respected fellow SNA member as NOS, brand new and never used and had the mods done 1.5yrs ago. Basically not a very old amp, all things considered.

The amp was used pretty used sparingly - was always curious to hear an 845 tube amp and of course it didn’t disappoint. It easily powered my Bryston A2 and MartinLogan ESL speakers. But otherwise it was stored with a plan of one day getting horns. Which never happened…

It really is an incredible 845 SET amp. After these particular mods the sound has been described as:

- The sound is really very bright, clear and full of details. It is also very colorful, especially female voices, brass, woodwinds and string arrangements. Grand pianos show their sound characteristic, you can easily distinguish between different brands.

- The bass section is powerful and undistorted - that means you can follow bass lines with ease. The big bass tone in the beginning of Richard Strauss's "Also sprach Zarathustra" stands markedly in the room. Bass drums come with a mighty kick.

- The imaging is outstanding ... Brass sections can be easily divided into the several playing instruments and also choirs can be heard as each voices instead the sum of them.

This thing is built like a tank and weighs 26kg so pick up preferred. Either Point Clare (NSW Central Coast) or Birchgrove NSW.
