Is the issue the shaking walls and rattling doors waking the baby up? The big black box in the room? Or both? 

If you still want some bass in your life without it shaking the house, have you considered nearfield or very nearfield (VNF) open baffle subwoofers? Since the front and back wave from the driver cancel, the room isn't pressurised and almost no bass escapes the room (sleeping baby).

Open baffle subs need to be close to be effective, but if you've got one VNF directly behind your seat, they give amazing tactile response and slam. They can also be made to look like furniture to improve the WAF - e.g. Side tables or a sideboard behind the sofa. It's a lot of work DIY  (or cost to get something custom made), however it might be an option if the PB16 has to go.
