The Encounter Mk3 brings to the fold the Dual Pivot bearing system that is only found on the Encounter up.

The Encounter MK3 is built to Rega geometry with an effective mass of 12g. The arm includes a threaded VTA adjustment which can be adjusted from above the armboard, perfect for tables where the lower nut is hard to access.  The arm is a dual-bearing design. Dual-pivot needle bearings are one of the hallmarks of Origin Live’s tonearms. Origin Live indicates that their dual pivot bearing is similar to a uni-pivot arm, providing very low friction and high decoupling which leads to improvements in definition and transparency. However they also feel their design is simpler than a traditional uni-pivot arm, offering all of the advantages of uni-pivots without any of the drawbacks. With the Origin Live design, vertical movement comes from the dual pivot, while horizontal movement is controlled by the conventional bearings.
 

This Encounter Mk3 has been fully serviced, stripped right down, all parts cleaned and polished, all service items checked and reset to factory specs. The arm has been fully rewired with KAB Superflex internal Litz tonearm wire, a very musical wire, performance on par with Cardas and extremely pliable, works very well with the delicate dual pivot needle bearings.

External cable is Sonic Art VINYL LINK, a high performance multicore OFC cable that is a clear upgrade over the OL "upgrade coax" that comes with these arms. The wiring upgrade adds $400 to the value of the arm.

Arm has been set up on a turntable and the dual pivot set to factory specs, azimuth set to neutral, then tested. Performance is as new, arm tracks perfectly and sounds better than new. Many hours have gone into this full rebuild!

Comes in its original wooden box, all factory fittings and instructions included.
