The time has come, already that I have to prepare for leaving my biggish house and moving to a retirement home. As a member here has been able to provide me with a much smaller speaker that I like, it is now time to part with my beloved Tannoys. This is the second pair I've owned, these HPds are very close to the sound of the LSU,, better in some ways. This is about what I paid for them here, maybe a bit less, its a bargain price for an outstanding 

audio experience. 

Tannoy is the ultimate name in studio monitors ( along with JBL) . These  vintage  speakers using the legendary dual concentric design which creates the most cohesive listenning experience, and are thoroughly unfatiguing. You can listen to Tannoys all day.  They seem to be the Mansfield model, although they are not labelled in that regard. 

 The HPD is noted for its  precise imaging,  with a sound that  is  open and  extended yet also crisp and tight  and tight. They are also missing the mid-bass hump found in the Monitor Gold.

This model is 92 dB efficent. I have used them with a 10 watt Single Ended amp and they sound fantastic.This model is from the early 70's. Along with the earlier LSU models they have been widely used in recording studios around the world. Most of the great British albums from the 70's were recorded in studios where Tannoys were used in the playback, so you can hear them how they were heard in the studio.

We can negotiate freight by various means , and personal collection is good.

Another alternative that would suit the woodwork dudes would be to just buy the drivers . Same price but much cheaper postage ( the only pair on eBay are more than twice these)
