These JBL's have performed excellently and even as not a "JBL guy" I am impressed. I seem to have embarked on an impromptu speaker odyssey and have 4 sets with another coming in next week. Something has to give.  The vertical horn gives great dispersion. The horns are clean and super smooth but still detailed and dont compress until you have already inflicted significant hearing damage. The 14 inch woofer kicks butt.  They are easy to run with normal amps  but will soak up high power and scale up in quality

 

They do have a unique look which I really like  but the cabinet finish is just spectacular and gives a super lux impression. Best looking cabinet I have owned. 

 

They perform as they should with no cabinet marks I am aware of .  Comes with manual and original spikes and footers. (please note townshend pods in photos are not included).

 

If you are interstate on the Eastern seaboard I can recommend a reliable and cost effective courier.

Seriously cheap. This is a great Greg Timbers design. A design that Greg was in control of, rather than marketing & the bean counters.

The woofer is from the legendary LE14 family. With a great 3" compression driver & vertical wave guide. 

I would snap them up in a heartbeat but already having 2 pairs is a bit ridiculous. 3 pairs would be insane.

Wow, these are some of the best speakers I can think of under $10k. Real punch and dynamics.

 

I imagined these were the perfect counter-point to your Lx521. Not sure you can replace these JBLs with anything sensible.

 

You have me wondering, but 5 house systems and 3 cars is allready overboard lol
