For $3k used, broaden your options. Abbas, Audio Note Kit 2.1 Signature, or Lampizator used DACs (all NOS and tube based) are potentially in this price range. All three options are better sounding and designed.

Below an Australian retailed selling a new ANK2.1 sig DAC

I have an MHDT Orchid 69 SE dac with original sovtek tube that i no longer need (I have 7 dacs). I also have a Black Ice dac that is  very organic  sounding - running a NOS tube Western Electric 6922. *This unit has lower gain than usual so u would need either a higher gain preamp or a larger output amp. Look them up.

Does the Black Ice DAC use digital filtering and therefore not a NOS DAC (Non Over sampling DAC)?

Not NOS so it is out of the running- this is a beautiful sounding dac- very organic but the output is low.
