Further Information

A Pioneer TX 9800 in excellent condition for its age.

No damage to the facia, case or rear.  The picture of the facia was taken up close so the toggleswitches look bent. I assure you they are not!

It had been restored before I bought it some 20+ years ago.

It has had very little use since I bought it.

These are rare to find in this condition.

Sonically, it is magnificent with a huge precise stereo soundstage.

I'm listing it at $1000 initially, going on the crazy prices showing up on HiFi Shark, but I am a realist, so there is some flexibility.

If there is no interest, I guess, I'll just keep it.

Thanking you in advance.

With a set of efficient speakers (or if you don’t need to go very loud) this can also be used without an amplifier. I need to see where mine has got to.

Lovely tuner that shares a lot of circuitry with the famous 9500, and apparently one of the better AM performers as well.

However, I'm not sure that the above is good advice.

Are you sure you're thinking of the same device?

With a relatively high output impedance of 3.6 kOhms (variable) or 4.2  kOhms (fixed), I wouldn't be connecting it to anything with an input impedance of less than around 27k to 47k.
