Further Information

Looking for a replacement D-Video PCB for this model or someone with the ability to repair it, or someone willing to sell a dead RX-V3900 for parts.

When using HDMI input on my Yamaha RX-V3900 the screen blinks in and out and snow is appearing on the screen.

HDMI output still works fine. I suspect a dead capacitor or solder problem on the board.

Did you get a quote from yamaha for a replacement board, ok, expect it to be higher than $200-. I have 2 x RX-V3900 but looking at repairing both but finding the time is difficult... where are you located? I'm in 3055 W Brunswick.

Yamaha usually charge about $800-$900.

Ouch, I brought a board from them recently, had NLA IC's, was about $160- but that was a much smaller/simpler board, maybe consider repairing? Post some hi-res images of both sides of the boards, maybe a smd has fried, yeah it's easy to blame caps, first thing I'd check is the power supply to that board, it's probably ok since amp does not go into protection.

Managed to track a board down from someone in the US. Now to roll the dice and see if it works 🙂
