Description:

This is back up for sale after potential non-SNA buyer's dilly-dallying about it.  Asking price is firm.

I'm selling this magnificent McIntosh MA2275 Integrated Amplifier on behalf of my elderly uncle who no longer requires it.

It's the first all-tube McIntosh integrated amp.   Here's two reviews I found from googling: http://www.hifi-review.com/153660-mcintosh-ma2275.htmlhttps://www.inner-magazines.com/audiophilia/mcintosh-ma-2275/

There were some issues with it which needed addressing when I was appointed to sell it.  I arranged for Australia's McIntosh distributor and service-centre, Synergy Audio-Visual in Melbourne, to repair those issues and refurbish it.  That work was completed late September 2024 at a cost of circa $2500.  Synergy have advised me that the vacuum tube set in the amp still has about 70% of their life left.  It has been returned to fantastic condition (only some marks remain on the control knobs from their use, hence the VG grade I've given it).  I can provide the invoice for all work done by Synergy to the buyer.

I don't have the original box.

No Remote:

I understand that the amp originally came with a remote but I do not have this.  I can however source a McIntosh remote for it for another $200, if desired.

Buyer location:

Given its size and weight, I'm now only making it available to buyers in Victoria or Canberra, but I'll consider Sydney arrangements on request (I no longer want to courier it given its size, weight and vacuum-tube fragility; too risky even if insured).

If you're in Victoria or Canberra (or southern NSW between the two), I'll bring it to you myself within reason, so that you can demo it in your system and decide whether you want to buy it or not.  For Melbourne based folk, I can also arrange a demo of the amp at a well-known near-CBD hifi shop, potentially on speakers the same or similar to a buyer's, if preferred.  If I'm bringing it to you, we'll just work out petrol-cost coverage between us.

If you're in Sydney, my preference would be we meet in Canberra but we can discuss alternatives if necessary.
