Mission DAD 7000 cd player.
One of the first two “high end brand” cd players from 1984 (competition was from Meridian) based on the chunky, all alloy, tank like Philips CD104.
There’s been a resurgence in these players over recent years and for good reason. This model uses the famous Philips CDM-1 glass lensed laser and TDA1540 DAC. Mission implemented its own filtering on the analogue outputs. This one for sale had this and any oversampling removed professionally by the previous (first) owner. This is a well regarded modification, along with the fitting of some quality RCA sockets to replace the very average factory captive leads.
This player plays without any issues and is in surprisingly good cosmetic condition. I purchased it purely for nostalgic reasons (my father was the Victorian Mission rep when this model was released and most likely sold this exact player to one of his dealers, George Hawthorn Electronics) but, it far exceeded expectations when comparing it to my much more modern Cyrus CDXTse transport. Purchased by me from the first owner in October 2023 and played, maybe, 15 CDs.
Original box, packing, and manual included. This version doesn’t have a remote control. Will be double boxed if the buyer requires shipping. Shipping is an additional cost.
