Further Information

Ok, I have no idea what this is!

I have never heard of a shindo Arome II but I also never saw one on the huge Chinese fake market and don’t really know whether the effort to fake one makes sense.

there are two Lundahl 1681 transformers inside and they work well with some SPUs and other classical MC cartridges.
happy to take it back if dissatisfied but I thought it was quite good. Definitely very well made ( maybe better than usual Shindo products I’m sorry to say)

if this is real, it’s an amazing bargain. If not it’s a really good SUT

I think it could be 1:13 and 1:26

maybe the added picture helps?

Since it’s using Lundahlls, I bet it’s the real deal. These are excellent transformers.

Hi Christian,

You are selling a Step Up Transformer with turns ratios of 1:13 or 1:26 which would work well for MC carts with an output of 0.4mV and 0.2mV respectively.  An MM preamp requires around 5mV of gain. One needs to multiply the cartridge output by the turns ratio. You can also calculate the loading but is not as important as the gain.

I hope this helps,

Raz

Thanks, I know about transformers, just not the exact ratio and definitely not whether that is a Shindo.
