The Kantu has always been a high-end loudspeaker thanks to its combination of detail, transparency, speed, pin-[point imaging of performers and instruments along with a soundstage that has life-like scale. These are in excellent condition in every way.They come with both stretch-fabric original grills. Each weighs 35 KG so pick up only unless you want to organise your own Pack and Send. Downsizing so negotiable. Designer Rod Crawford has confirmed these are the original Kantu speakers.

Hi, does Kantu 3/4 mean like a transition speaker between Kantu 3 and Kantu 4?

I'm not having much success finding reviews or info on the Kantu that has those bass drivers (phase plug and strips stuck on the cone).

Any other information - age, dimensions, ease of load, resistance, sensitivity? Anything would be appreciated.

 

Sorry about the questions, but I'm looking for a small/medium floorstander for a family member.

I had a pair of the original Legend Kantu loudspeakers around 10 years ago and my brother still uses these in a second system currently. The original Kantu loudspeakers used the wonderful Audax aerogel drivers, but Dr Crawford went away from the Audax drivers, I believe, when Audax stopped supplying to the domestic hi-fi market. The drivers in these Kantu loudspeakers look like Peerless units and they would be Kantu 3s. The Kantu 4 loudspeakers came after these and used Scan-Speak mid woofers combined with a Visaton tweeter. I've never heard of a Kantu 3/4 model.

 

The Legend Kantus are an excellent loudspeaker and these would be a very good buy at the asking price.
