Technics EAH-A800 Headphones Boast Industry-Leading Noise-Cancelling Skills

The Technics EAH-A800 ANC headphones have Apple, Bose and Sony in their sights. The Technics EAH-A800 Bluetooth active noise-cancelling over-ear headphones pack no fewer than eight microphones working together to make voice calls more natural and mitigate any outside noise from disturbing your listening session.
Packing a newly developed 40mm dynamic driver with a free edge diaphragm in the dome whose edge part is composed of different multi-layer materials, we're told to expect the A800 to produce deep bass with minimal distortion throughout its claimed 4 Hz-40kHz frequency range. Elsewhere, the Acoustic Control Chamber accurately controls airflow to further enhance the driver's performance, says the brand.
Moreover, Technics says that they've borrowed thin-film polymer multi-layer capacitor tech from its high-grade audio amplifiers. According to the manufacturer, the result is a stable current through the audio circuitry, which limits distortion and generates high-quality sound.
Thanks to Bluetooth 5.2, LDAC and AAC support, the EAH-A800 should be happy with hi-res audio. Furthermore, Technics claims the A800 offers “industry-leading” ANC performance through their hybrid system, which combines an analogue filter and feed-back mic with a feed-forward mic and digital filter. Technics has also taken new measures to reduce wind noise, including implementing multiple chambers to limit air vibrations.
Of course, there are various levels of noise-cancelling to hand on the A800 with the expected 'Natural Ambient Mode' enabling you to hear surrounding noise while listening to music or making calls. Additionally, there is 'Attention Mode' that's said to allow you to listen out for travel announcements, hear when your coffee is ready, or be able to chat while still having your tunes in the background.
Finally, the A800 boasts a 50-hour battery life (or 30 hours of talk time) from a single charge and multipoint pairing, allowing them to be connected to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.
In the UK, the Technics EAH-A800 are £299/ €349 and available in black or silver. Australian pricing and availability has not yet been confirmed.
