PANASONIC DP-UB9000 BLU-RAY PLAYER AUSTRALIAN PRICING ANNOUNCED
Panasonic has officially confirmed the pricing and availability of its new premium Blu-ray player offering, the DP-UB9000.
The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player release is timed perfectly following OPPO's departure from the market this year.
Aaron Waters, Product Marketing Manager - Audio & Video, Panasonic, told StereoNET:
The UB9000 is the benchmark in Blu-ray home entertainment for the discerning enthusiast. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision technology deliver outstanding picture quality, while THX® certification replicates the finely nuanced colours and rich, detailed images required to precisely reproduce the filmmaker's intentions. The UB9000 is highly engineered for unparalleled sound with a dedicated audio power supply and a vibration-reducing chassis.
According to Panasonic, the UB9000 is powered by a Hollywood Cinema Experience (HCX) Processor which was developed by specialists in the heart of Hollywood. It is said to “deliver stunningly precise colours and optimal brightness.”
Moreover, the player also boasts HDR adjustment technologies to deliver excellent detail across dark and bright scenes, maintaining fidelity regardless of the TV or viewing environment.
It also features a dedicated audio power supply, maintaining high-fidelity through its analog audio circuits, DAC and XLR balanced outputs. The UB9000 supports analogue 7.1 channel audio for direct connection to a home theatre system, and dual HDMI outputs for isolating and transmitting TV (4K video) and amplifier audio.
High-resolution audio reproduction has not been overlooked. In addition to conventional WAV/FLAC/MP3/AAC/WMA formats, DSD (11.2MHz/5.6 MHz/2.8 MHz) ALAC and AIFF music files can also be reproduced.
For the smart home early adopters, it offers hands-free operation and voice control with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It also includes native compatibility with Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video.
The Panasonic DP-UB9000 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player will be available in mid-November 2018 and will sell for $1,649 RRP.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
