In the dizzying merry-go-round that has been hi-fi distribution in Australia in recent times, a good news story has emerged with the formation of Melbourne-based HiFi Collective.

The fresh new approach of HiFi Collective is thanks to two seasoned and hard-working industry professionals, Chris Murphy and Gareth Weller

The new company is the evolution of N.A Distributors which had previously distributed Naim Audio and Focal Home Audio in Australia for eight years and five years respectively.

HiFi Collective brings a new adventure in HiFi to the Australian market, engaging specialist hifi retail stores to deliver the very best products, service and support to music-loving consumers.

With the merry-go-round given yet another big spin by Melbourne's brand-collecting distributor Busisoft AV earlier this year, Murphy and Weller saw an opportunity to regroup.

Together, they've curated a small and select range of leading home audio products that they say bring music-lovers closer to their music collections. History tells us that if Murphy-Weller says it, you can bank on it.

Speaking with StereoNET exclusively, Murphy told us:

Gareth and I work well together and share the same values. After some soul-searching, we decided that we wanted to return to spending time on the things that really matter – music, relationships, and great customer service – rather than expending energy on keeping the corporate machines happy. So we compiled a portfolio of smaller brands making cool, interesting products that sound fantastic.

The HiFi Collective portfolio that launches today represents leading brands including AURALiC, AVM, Fink Team, Fyne Audio, Heed Audio, Totem Acoustic, and Vertere Acoustics

The Trans-Tasman distribution agreement sees N.A Distributors simultaneously representing the above brands in New Zealand except for Fyne Audio, while HiFi Collective will apply its passion and expertise to serving the full portfolio in Australia.

Gareth Weller commented:

We're pleased to continue our relationships with some of Australia's best specialist hi-fi stores, run by passionate music and hi-fi lovers who care about their customers. We share their passion, and we have a history of working closely with them, helping them get the best out of our brands. It's exciting to offer them products that are already in demand, and very sellable, and that above all, sound fantastic.

HiFi Collective launches in Australia today, with the full support of its many loyal specialist retailers in most capital cities. HiFi Collective will debut its range at the 2019 StereoNET Melbourne Hi-Fi Show, October 18-20 at the Pullman Hotel, Albert Park.
