HI-FI SHOW: Headphones Heaven at the 2023 StereoNET Melbourne Hi-Fi & AV Show

In conjunction with Minidisc.com.au, this year's show attendees are in for a real treat if you're into headphones. Minidisc is transforming the Ground Floor into the Headzones Listening Lounge and will showcase some of the latest and best in headphones, amp/DACs and digital audio players.

They will also unveil brand-new products, which will be seen for the first time in Australia, not to mention fantastic show deals for attendees to take home with them on the day.

If you've ever dreamed of owning custom-fit in-ear monitors, Minidisc will offer 3D ear scans at the show. Ear scanning is a fast, accurate and non-invasive process that can be performed in 20 - 30 minutes, creating a 3D file that can be used to manufacture a custom-made CIEM - tailored to you for the ultimate in reference listening. For more details and to book a scan, click here.

Headzones highlights include 64 Audio's new Volur, a 10-driver hybrid IEM, and Dan Clark Audio's new Corina electrostatic flagship headphones. You'll also be able to experience Elysian Acoustic's new 2023 versions of the Annihilator and Diva, and, for the first time in Australia, five of iBasso's newly announced products. Sony's rare DMP-Z1 will also be available for demo, along with the flagship STAX X9000 electrostatic earspeaker. Finally, the 21-driver PREMIER from Ultimate Ears, regarded as one of the best Custom-IEMs for stage monitoring, and the Vision Ears VE10, a 10th-anniversary high-end IEM, will all be on display and ready to audition.

If that wasn't enough, Headzones will also feature brands such as Auris, Earmen, Meze, Chord Electronics, Sennheiser, Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Effect Audio, Fir Audio, Hiby, Unique Melody, Vision Ears, and ZMF.

StereoNET’s Founder and Publisher was born in England and raised on British Hi-Fi before moving to Australia. He developed an early love of music and playing bass guitar before discovering the studio and the other side of the mixing desk. After a few years writing for audio magazines, Marc saw the future in digital publishing and founded the first version of StereoNET, known at the time as Planet Audio, in 1999.

    applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
