The long-anticipated release of Free BYRD TWS earbuds promises “legendary beyerdynamic audio, outstanding voice quality, and digital active noise cancellation”, says the company.

Designed and developed in Heilbronn, the German audio specialists tell us its design draws inspiration from the classic guitar pick. Free BYRD is certainly not the smallest TWS earbud we've come across, but it also sports a serious amount of features and a 10mm dynamic driver said to be good for a frequency response of 10Hz-22kHz.

One of the key features of Free BYRD, and many headphones in the Beyerdynamic range, is the inclusion of MOSAYC - beyerdynamic's innovative and updated MIY app, which runs a brief hearing test and then personalises the sound to your specific hearing. In addition, the equaliser offers customisation of audio content to one's preference with presets. 

Free BYRD also utilises the latest Bluetooth 5.2 tech, which offers the latest aptX™ adaptive and AAC codecs for “detailed sound with brilliant highs and powerful bass”. Onboard digital ANC with hybrid technology ensures you block out the distractions of the surrounding world when needed. Or, if you prefer, ambient noise can be easily mixed in via Transparency Mode so that you can go from an immersive soundscape to a meaningful conversation with just a tap of the earbuds.

Free BYRD comes supplied with a choice between five sets of various-sized silicone tips designed by beyerdynamic's acoustics specialists to ensure the best possible fit with a focus on in-ear ergonomics. There are also three additional memory-foam tips for use during sporting activities, particularly as Free BYRD is splash-resistant with IPX4 certification to protect against sweat during extreme workouts or rain while on the go.

Gamers will enjoy the “Low Latency Mode”, ensuring perfect sync between image and sound. At the same time, Free BYRD is ideal for working on the go, thanks to its highest quality speech intelligibility, even in a noisy environment. This is due to the inclusion of Qualcomm® dual 2-mic eve™ technology - a total of four microphones, two each on the left and right earpieces of the Free BYRD, deliver natural phone calls. 

Finally, Free BYRD earbuds have an extra-long battery life of up to 11 hours after a single charge. For charging, the earbuds can be stored in the compact charging cradle/case at any time, offering two additional charges for up to 30 hours of listening time. The charging case is powered via USB-C or Qi® wireless pads, and if you're in a hurry, a quick 10-minute charge provides up to 70 minutes of listening time.
