Fanatic Wanted at Carlton Audio Visual

Carlton Audio Visual, Victoria, are looking for someone to join their installation team. You’ll get a chance to work with some of the finest Hi-Fi products known to man, and in some of Victoria’s finest residences.

As an installer, you’ll help design and install multi-room, home theatre and home automation systems. The job is partly physical - you’ll pull cable, hang televisions and cut in speakers; and partly technical - you’ll configure equipment and troubleshoot problems. You’ll receive on the job training, as well as opportunities to attend industry specific training events.

You’ll need:

  • A passion for music - Music is CAV's business, and they want their customers to enjoy their music to the utmost.
  • A love of gadgets - It’s a technical world, with new gear and formats coming left right and centre. You’ll need to be able to keep up with a rapidly changing field.
  • Problem solving skills - You'll need to be able to adapt skill sets and learn on your feet to cope with ever evolving technology.
  • Personality - CAV's clients are of the utmost importance to them, and they want someone who values the importance of inter-personal relationships.

Previous experience in the Hi-Fi scene is useful, but not a deal breaker. Experience with networking, computers, home automation or soldering skills would be looked upon favourably. If you think you can add an interesting skill set to the mix, then Carlton Audio Visual is keen to talk to you.

    applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
