AudioQuest Acquires GoldenEar Technology

Quest Group, the Californian parent company of cable and accessory brand AudioQuest, has announced it has acquired loudspeaker brand GoldenEar Technology.

Sandy Gross, CEO and co-founder of GoldenEar, said in an open letter:

I am pleased to announce that The Quest Group, the owner of AudioQuest, has acquired GoldenEar Technology. Owned by Bill Low, an ardent audiophile, The Quest Group, best known as the creator and supplier of the AudioQuest brand, has defined how a focus on audiophile performance can combine with market savvy and understanding, marketing excellence and operational excellence, to achieve exceptional business success.

It is reported that The Quest Group's strong presence on the ground in Europe which includes full warehousing and a growing sales-support structure, along with its strong Asia-Pacific presence, will further benefit the GoldenEar Technology brand.

Gross continued:

I very much want to continue with my lifelong work of creating great loudspeakers and bringing them to market. I think that TQG's capabilities will help us to create and structure an even more effective market presence, and, with their help and backing, I am confident that our sales team will grow and be able to offer even greater support to you, our dealers, distributors, and to your teams.

In an exclusive StereoNET interview with Bill Low late last year, Bill revealed that even after celebrating forty years of AudioQuest this year, he has no intentions of slowing down or retiring. This latest announcement proves Mr.Low is true to his word.

    applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
