Arcam’s New Movie Stars: AVR11, AVR21, AVR31 and AV41
Arcam premiers its AVR11, AVR21 and AVR31 alongside the AV41 high-performance processor, pitched as the Cambridge-based company's most comprehensively equipped AV machines to date.
Bragging rights are backed up by 8K @ 60fps support as well as AURO-3D, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, DTS:X. You will also find HDMI 2.1 with HDCP2.3 and HDR10+.
Additionally, the processor and trio of AVRs also sport wireless connectivity via Bluetooth with aptX HD, Google Chromecast, Apple Airplay2, and support, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect. Finally, they are Roon Ready and MQA compatible.
Crunching the numbers on each model is a pair of ESS9026PRO audiophile DACs, together with ESS reference voltage regulators. Arcam states that this makes them as capable with audio as with visual.
The AVR11 and AVR21 each power seven channels of Class AB amplification, claiming 7 x 85 watts (all channels driven) and 7 x 110 watts (all channels driven), respectively, with the AVR11 featuring native 12-channel decoding. Meanwhile, the AVR21 adds a further four channels alongside an extra HDMI output to the AVR11's pair.
The Arcam AVR31 gets seven channels of Class G amplification dishing out 16 Channels of Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and AURO-3D decoding. Here you are offered seven HDMI inputs and three HDMI outputs, including Zone 2, eARC compatible.
The ARCAM AV41 AV processor supports everything the AVRs do, while its rear panel provides XLR balanced outputs promising 16 channels of high-quality analogue connection to power amplifiers.
Fear not if your room is not a perfect environment as each new model comes supplied with a room calibration mic and Dirac Live, the world's most advanced room correction software. This should ensure a larger sweet spot, accurate staging, clarity, and voice intelligibility. Moreover, this is fully tuneable to your preference, thanks to Dirac Live Bass Control. Building on Dirac Live, Dirac Live Bass Management automatically maximise low-frequency performance from all your loudspeakers.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
