Amazon 2nd-Gen Echo Buds Ready for Australian Launch

Amazon's second-gen Echo Buds are gearing up for launch in Australia - in fact; you can pre-order them right now.
The global giant's second go at wireless earbuds are lighter, smaller, and reportedly more comfortable than the previous generation. Better yet, improvements have been made to the noise-cancellation, thanks to Amazon's own in-house development.
Amazon doesn't claim to be the best in the wireless earbud category, instead focusing on features and affordable pricing, a mix that they may have nailed so far, according to early reviews.
The 2nd-gen Echo Buds feature a long-lasting battery with up to five hours of music playback per charge and up to 15 hrs with the charging case. A quick 15-minute charge provides up to 2 hours of music.
As you would expect, Echo Buds work with the Alexa app to stream music, play podcasts, and read Audible audiobooks - just ask. You can also leave your phone in your pocket and use your voice to make calls, set reminders, add items to your shopping list, or even start a meditation session.
However, echo buds are not just limited to Alexa, as they also work with other assistants - compatible with iOS and Android, and support Siri and Google Assistant.
With the human race's rightful and increasing concern about privacy these days, Amazon says, “it's not in the business of selling your personal information to others. Echo Buds are built with multiple layers of privacy controls, including the ability to mute the mics with the Alexa app.”
Echo Buds are sweat-resistant and come with four sizes of ear tips and two sizes of wingtips for a secure fit that's made to move with you. Once found, the Echo Buds form a comfortable, in-ear seal that helps bring out the best in your music.
Amazon is also making an effort to improve its sustainability as a company. The Echo Buds use 21% post-consumer recycled plastics in the case, and 98% of the packaging is made of wood fibre-based materials from responsibly managed forests or recycled sources.
Amazon's Echo Buds are available for pre-order now in Australia. The 2nd-gen Ear Buds will sell for A$169 with the Wired Charging Case or A$199 with the Wireless Charging Case. Both items will ship on October 27, 2021, but you can place your order now.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
