Exclusive: Alan Shaw, Harbeth Interview
Harbeth, the famous loudspeaker manufacturer from the U.K, generally needs no introduction to enthusiasts from around the globe. We decided to dig a little deeper and chat one-on-one with Alan Shaw, the Managing Director and owner of Harbeth Audio Ltd.
Regular StereoNET readers will remember the two reviews that we published in 2015, a review of the Harbeth Compact 7ES-3 and the Harbeth Super HL5plus.
The Super HL5plus was particularly enjoyable for me personally and a contender for StereoNET’s annual ‘loudspeaker of the year’ award. Following the reviews, the Australian distributor for Harbeth, Audio Magic, coordinated an interview with Alan Shaw to find out more about the man behind the brand, and the incredible history of the company.
StereoNET: Thank you for your time Alan. I assume that you have read the two StereoNET reviews already. I wrote about your speakers and their place in BBC history. Did I get the story right?
